shite!
I just bought a .35 this week to hunt this year in LA. Wish I would have waited on some of the deals that are about to become available!

don't get this. Could see that resulting in a vastly decreased population.
Why, were using high powered rifles in primitive season now?

Will bow still start Oct 1st? I loved having a nearly two month jump on the gunners.

The information I got from someone in MS was they planned to just turn the primitive weapon season into an extended rifle season basically. Going to be one long arse season.
I own land in Miss. The best part of the season is in Jan n Feb. If they would just extend the season a little longer it would help.

I agree, the only decent deer I've shot in southern Miss was after the dog season was over.
I like hunting with my crack barrel and may continue to do so even if the bolt actions are legal.

you would see a lot less decent deer living long enough to become big deer.

Im a little confused are they
A) going to drop primitive centerfires (45-70) and during primitive weapon all you can use is black powder or bow?
Or
B) going to drop primitive centerfires and you can use your high power rifle? Basically... Do i need this 45-70 anymore? Im bout to sell this thing ha

Mississippi House Bill 1139, which has already cleared the House, would make a centerfire rifle of any caliber and design legal on private lands during any Mississippi gun season

Looks like any centerfire rifle allowed during any gun season.
I'll give you $100 for it

Sure as hell glad I couldn't find a .35 Whelen to buy over deer season

I almost bought a 44mag handi rifle two weeks ago. Glad I didn't, I wouldn't doubt La follows suit with Mississippi.

Welp just put my 45-70 for sale for $250 and gota call! Guess ima sell the thing

I use my 4570 when I'm hunting tight quarters in the woods/ladder stands during rifle season. I like the length of it. I could hunt 90% of the stands at my lodge with it.
