I'm looking into this. The old IGFA record was 17 1/2 lbs. I wouldn't say this shattered it. 4 lbs is a lot but these gator trout are freaks. Lots or disparity in the records.

I'm saying if you look at trout records they are often topped by a couple pounds. This wouldn't surprise me at all. I'm certainly not convinced its real either.

Who said I wasn't impressed? We are arguing over a subjective term here and it's silly. I said I wouldn't say it "shattered" the record. I never said you couldn't or shouldn't say it. If it beats the old record it does so by 20%. You can say it OBLITERATED the record for all I care.
