Can Someone Explain Same Stock on Different Exchanges to me...

So I was wondering if a seasoned investor can help a fairly new investor out....
I read something I was very intrigued by about the future of Sinopec and Bank of China and the Hong Kong Shares, now I notice you can buy SNP on the nyse but is that the same thing as the hong kong shares or no?
Also with something like Bank of China, the A and B shares over there, how do you buy those via Etrade, all I can find is BACHF via etrade which is only 50 cents a share....thats not the price I read the shares are at but the same stock, same PE, and yield... it has a PE of 6 and a very high dividend.....

There could indeed be different classes of shares. Read the prospectus to be sure.

The US shares are called ADR's

Hey thanks, it just confused me bc SNP is on the new york exchange but the article was mentioning the hong kong shares.....and bank of china wasn't on the nyse but rather an OTC vs class A shares over there.....just confused haha, I want in still, just trying to find where I wanna enter
so broke would I want to buy SNP? would I want to buy bachf or bachy? bachf seems more in line with the market cap and yield I read, just the share price is way off...bachy has a 10% yield....but thats the ADR.. if I was wanting to purchase bank of china and sinopec?

Brother I don't know. I'm limited to stocks that trade on a US exchange. So I have no idea about those.

I thought Etrade would allow you buy overseas. Maybe I read that wrong somewhere.
