Which one? Colbert's character can be, and Lalas came off as pretentious there.

Well yeah, it just kind of sucks as Colbert's audience is pretty much the best target market for the MLS and he said shite like "You have to be intelligent to appreciate soccer" etc

While it might be true that the soccer fanbase (in America at least) tends to be a little smarter/better off than the other sports it's not something you go around shouting.

God I Hate Colbert.

I loved it when Alexi said to him it took a superior intellect to understand and enjoy soccer, then he told Colbert he was sorry that he would never get to enjoy that experience ...

Lalas basically called him a fricking retard

You do know he's playing a character, right?

He's not meant to be taken seriously.

Yes I do but I just don't like him or Stewart because of their shows and how many people do watch their shows and take them serious as if it were REAL reporting.

Sorry its really no big deal JMO and I understand that people have different ones. I mean the world wouldn't be as cool as it is if we all thought and acted alike, right?

No shite, but if you have any semblance of intelligence you can see he's basically trying to discredit the other side by making them look like idiots... by posing as one of them and saying stupid shite.

He's hilarious I'll give him that, but when he gets political it's really hard to watch the show especially since I tend towards conservative.

I can see how conservatives would get irritated with him.

This

ETA: on a scale of 1-10.

1 = far left
5 = Middle
10= far right

I'm somewhere between 6-8 so yeah he tends to rub me the wrong way sometimes.

Sums up Colbert perfectly. His shtick has long since run its course, I don't find him funny at all at this point.

The first year or two it was subtle enough that it was still funny.

I guess after his ratings skyrocketed he decided he could do what he wanted and dropped the act so to speak.

I really don't understand the thought process behind this at all.
