I love this place!
Going to do some bass fishing.
Haven't been in over 6 months.
Any reports?

Heard they move out of the Chicken coop and into the creeks awaiting to move to the shallows to spawn.
They spawn on full moons so I'd say this one of the next should be on fire.
We like to target them around 1215 for the spawn...

Absolutely.

My buddy said he won't be doing much night fishing this summer because of his saltwater trips..

I think he's lying.

I find no greater joy in fishing than being on Toledo Bend at night bass fishing..

I'll be there Saturday morning. I haven't fished Toledo in almost a year.

What do you think about making a trip to Toledo in a 15' G3 w/ 25 yammy? Is that enough boat to get around?

Heading there March 1st -3rd, and again March 16th for a tournament. Tx Oilmens will be the same weekend. Patroon -Ben's and Piney are holding fish.
1215 might be kinda bad with the wind!

You might not be able to cross the lake or anything, but I would fish Toledo in that boat

TONS of coves and places to fish in whatever size boat you have. Just don't get into the river with a 15'. Plenty of launches now that the lake is back to normal levels

I fish Toledo in my kayak

If you stick one side or one cove, you will be fine as long as a storm doesn't come up. Don't try to cross the lake.

Of course ..just watch the winds.
If you launch at the 1215 landing you should be safe and can fish bass or white perch.
Also Jack's landing at Housen is a pretty safe area too for small boats.
Also Carrice Creek launch you can stay on the west side or go right into Carrice creek.

I was going to try this area saturday since we killed them last year at this time there.

We will also fish Housen I think and maybe venture up to 1215 if the winds are low.

And a secret spot my other buddy caught 18 keeprs at last saturday

If any of you want to exchange phone numbers I'll be glad to text you where we are catching and what we are using...
We have a guide friend that lives on the lake and he usually gives us info....
