Livingston Parish - interesting traffic violations

Paying a ticket and while checking out the fines on the LP website I thought a few of these were amusing:

No smoking in vehicle w/ minor $200.00

Headlights, two required $125.00

Driving left of center $165.00
(no mention of driving right of center)

Exhaust, loud/noisy $125.00

Insecure load $100.00
(wouldnt that be "unsecure" ??)

Low rider vehicle $100.00

Parking/standing/stopping on hwy $100.00

Allowing dogs to roam $150.00

Sounds like they accidentally wrote an ordinance against transporting crazy fat chicks.

That would be a funny police stop.

"What seems to be the problem, officer?"
"Sir, I noticed that the things you have in the back of your truck don't feel comfortable with their identity..."

I may be mistaken, but wouldn't right of center be you driving in your lane? That's usually legal.

This terminology is not incorrect at all although it is interchangable with unsecure.

from eHow-
LINK

quote:

Louisiana allows lowrider vehicles to operate on its streets and highways as long as the vehicles comply with the minimum and maximum requirements for the height of headlamps. In addition, lowriders must have operational shock absorbers and springs, have at least three inches of suspension travel and four inches of ground clearance (measured from the frame of the vehicles when on a level surface) and comply with general requirements for motor vehicles.

Not sure exactly WHY it is illegal, but that's the regulations in place for the state.
