I've been an LSU fan since 1970 (back when we played Tulane every year) and I've never heard of "Tiger Rag" in connection with that game. Besides, I never understood the LSU-Tulane "rivalry". I know they were in the SEC back in the 50s and 60s so maybe that's where it started, but by the 70s Tulane was outof the SEC and awful, and I felt no real strong rivalry against them. And I sure as hell don't care about ULL. There's zero rivalry with them.

The sad thing is that I pull for them when they are not playing LSU. The reason is that I know they will never challenge LSU as the state's only dominant school, so why not pull for the in-state team (similar to pulling for an SEC school in the NC game in football or any sport).

Neither team has every thrown a weekend starter for a mid weekend game against each other. Although LSU did throw Matty Ott against us in 2011. Thanks for playing...

Y'all should just focus on firing Uncle Tony. He is still living on that world series appearance 13 years ago. Time to breathe fresh life in that program, just look what it did for the football team.

Most believe that Tony will retire once his son Austin, who pitches for UL, graduates or leaves for the draft.

As a graduate of USL, I would have preferred keeping that name. I will respect the universities decision and call the school the University of Louisiana at Lafayette at this point. We should all respect both universities in that respect (albeit, the LSU moniker has been in place considerably longer that UL Lafayette). From an football point of view, LSU is my first love and that was cemented in my first year of college (that was at LSU and my first semester was in the West Stadium Drom, when they were still dorms, a testament to my procrastination at filling out my housing application). For basketball and baseball I fall about 50/50 usually pulling for the for a team based on the particulars of that season. I pull for the Cajuns when it comes to softball, I've been doing that since before LSU had a softball team.

I wish certain folks in both fan bases would dial it back a bit. To quote Rodney King "Can't we all just get along."

If it needs a name, that would work, but honestly, it's not a rivalry.

I thought it was "Louisiana Red Hawks"? You know, the ones that beat Arkansas last year and beat Saban at Bama a few years back. That's the "University of Louisiana", isn't it?
