I thought LSU would be playing ulala this year in football but looking at the schedule, it ain't so. Also, noticed we have 2 open dates-before & after the bama game, actually 2 before the bama game considering LSU hosts Furman the week before the first open date. I remember a few years with 2 open dates but it just seems odd to have them almost back to back (inb4theywillneedthemsinceitsbama). Just wondering what happened to the ulala game?

LSU will play at Georgia and home against Florida in 2013 as part of its Southeastern Conference schedule announced Thursday by the conference office.

The Tigers will play Sept. 28 at Georgia and at home Oct. 12 against Florida.

Florida has been designated as LSU’s permanent opponent out of the SEC East. The Tigers and Gators have played every year since 1971.

Georgia replaces South Carolina on LSU’s schedule from this year as a rotating SEC East opponent.

The Georgia game will be a homecoming of sorts for LSU quarterback Zach Mettenberger. He is from the Athens, Ga., area and started his college career at Georgia.

SEC Executive Associate Commissioner Mark Womack said in a statement that the 2013 schedule is “a bridge” to a permanent 12-year scheduling format to begin with the 2014 season. This would also coincide with the start of the four-team BCS playoff system.

LSU’s schedule currently includes two open dates bracketing a Nov. 9 game at Alabama — one on Nov. 2 and one on Nov. 16. LSU has in recent years tried to maintain an open date before playing Alabama.

The Tigers finish with home games against Arkansas on Nov. 23 and Texas A&M on Nov. 30.

Nov. 30 is the latest regular-season finale for LSU since the Tigers hosted Auburn on Dec. 1, 2001. That game was supposed to happen in September, but was rescheduled after the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.

Looks like its because we play that early game against tcu. The open dates should help seeing who we play after.

I added up the games twice to make sure I counted 12... I couldn't figure it out!

we were originally slated to play ole miss before bama, but alleva threw a fit that bama had a bye the week before our game while we didn't. Ole miss moved the game for us and since we already had a bye after bama, we wound up with one before and after.

it looks like this is one of those weird years where our first game is in august. we essentially get to have another bye week in years like this.

Man that is a fun looking schedule...

TCU is going to be tougher than people think, but it should be a good warm up game...

We should be 4-0 when we roll into Georgia...

if our offense gets going, we're going to shock some people

And but for a 3-year hiatus from 1968-1970, every year before that going all the way back to 1953.

We played them in 2008 and 2009, Vandy in '09 and '10, Tennessee in '10 and '11, Kentucky in '11 and South Carolina in '12. If they are following the "rotation" theory, we should get Missouri or Vanderbilt in 2014, and Alabama should get Georgia. If that doesn't happen, then the SEC has abandoned all pretense at fairness.

Of course. Let Alabama have Missouri and Kentucky during this "bridge" period (while we get top-10 South Carolina and Georgia), then just when it's our turn to get a break and have Missouri or Vandy, and their turn to finally play somebody with a pulse from the East, start a new "rotation". Assholes.

And of course the permanent opponents are balanced, since Tennessee = Florida, right? Turds.

You have these reversed, don't you? Your schedule listed under it suggests so...

Nov. 23: Texas A&M (Baton Rouge) Nov. 30: Arkansas (Baton Rouge)

I hope we do start playing A&M on T-giving weekend, but I'd rather move Arkie up to an earlier part of the season, when they are usually playing like crap. Moving them up by only one weekend would let them keep treating it like the Super Bowl as they do now.

I'm not saying Kent St and UAB are powerhouses, but they are going to be a lot tougher games than N.Texas, Idaho, or Towson.

No they wont. (Hey remember, mighty Towson scored more points on us than the Red Devils did)

BTW, you forgot about powerhouse Furman. UAB, Kent State and Furman. That's one putrid OOC schedule.

Way to go Joe. Move the TCU game to Dallas, then stick us with more OOC BS in Tiger Stadium.

UAB and Furman suck, but Kent State went 11-3 last season, should be a good mid-major opponent. They return both their RBs which is what made their team tick last year, both had over 1300 yards rushing. Archer not only had close to 1500 yards rushing at NINE yards per carry but also had over 500 yards receiving

I thought Bama played Kent State instead of ULM every year.

i love the people who hate our ooc schedule for being too easy. especially when we play a team like TCU and a decent kent state team.

they're probably the same people who think anything less than 14 wins is unacceptable and are all bama jealous.

check out bama's ooc schedule.
