amazes me how so many people on this site want him to fail

My beef is the people that go on ST and talk about the Saints drafting him in the third. I don't think he's worth a 3rd rounder. I really see him moving to safety in the NFL. Put him in the back where he can make plays.

Regardless of when he gets drafted, he'll have an opportunity to compete. If he has a good combine, and especially if the interviews go well, no reason to think he wont.

So if he's not worth a 3rd rounder ...than what is he worth?

Mo Claiborne ran a 4.4 and a 4.5 at the combine.

It's all about instincts and reflexes. TM7 is a ballhawk. He will excel at the next level. Best of luck to him. I will be rooting for him!

He did f*ck up really badly. There is a price for that. I'm rooting for him, nonetheless.

What might have been, if he had only put down the pipe for a couple of semesters.

I hope he kicks arse in the combine. It would be a great comeback story.

I dont hope the guy fails, but if he does Im not gonna lose any sleep, same if he hits the big time.

Nobody wants him to fail. People just understand he can't stay out of trouble.

one of the most decorated players in LSU history is entering the draft and the story is old?

You of all people can't say shite like that after your non-stop Jarrett Lee nonsense

Jlee was a contributor who always put the team ahead of himself and at the end of the day got shafted by LM.
Tm7 on the other hand....
Ah frick it, don't even try to compare the two.

Unfortunatey for mathieu his "decorations" as you call it are as tainted as they are dignified.

how are his accomplishments tainted? did he not earn them or something? his legacy tainted? yeah probably. but to say his accomplishments are is a joke.

I think if he is a mid round pick he should be happy
Between his size and his off the field issues, if he signs as an undrafted free agent he should be ecstatic. I expect that he will get drafted, but after all the chances he has blown his expectations should be close to zero.

As for the "working his arse off" part, that better be part of his plan no matter where he is drafted. He has natural instincts that few in the league can match, but almost everybody in the league also has a few things he can't match (size, speed, experience, etc.). He better work his arse off just to make sure he stays good enough to play at that level.

Why people assume that a hand-timed is always faster than laser is beyond me. That could be true, but a person could also be late in stopping the timer to make sure they cross the line

Very true statement. While most will be slower on lazer...the fact is that you can't rely on hand-timed accuracy.

At least you are consistent. Consistently retarded. But consistent nonetheless.

Meh, coming from you that doesn't mean a whole lot.
Good try though.

Matthieu was a 20 year old kid who came from some very bad circumstances. No excuse for screwing up, but certainly understandable. As an LSU fan it's infuriating that he let the Tiger Nation down, but I do believe in redemption and wish him the best.

Regeardless of how he performs though, I don't think teams will give him a look any higher than 3rd or 4th round. He isn't big or physical enough and the personal troubles will scare away most teams. I expect he will be chosen as a possible back-up DB and mostly for special teams which equates to a mid to late round pick.

I really like the Badger he was the most exciting player in 1 yr that we've had in quite a while. This guy made more huge defensive/special teams plays than anyone that i can remember.
With that being said I'd have to see that 4.47 myself to believe it. I wonder who was on that clock when he and Peterson were working out?

I really hope he does well, but for some reason I feel like even if he does make the NFL he won't be able to put MJ behind him.

Maybe Seattle or Denver will pick him up?

If he runs a 4.4 anything at the combine he will probably go late in the 2nd round or somewhere in the 3rd round. If he runs a 4.55 which is closer to reality in my opinion he may fall as far as the 5th round.
Someone on here should do; "A what number will Mathieu go in the draft" because its truly a crapshoot at this point.
May the wind be at your back, Tyrann on race day.

Really liked tyrann Guy was fricking everywhere it seemed. Espically that 2011 Arkansas game where he probably could've singlehandedly beat them.
