Hit and miss on opinions of Pimanyoli's. Personally I think it is great. Everything is homemade which goes a long way in my book.

agree with Jones, most places in BR get covered on this board.

Yeah, the "where to go tonight" in BR threads have no use anymore. It's the same few places. BR isn't that big

local brick and mortar place? Anything new out there?

BR is good for little hole in the walls, but not much else.

I have found the BR people are better when it comes to cooking at home.

BR home meals > NOLA home meals

B.R. folks are pretty harsh, but fair, when it comes to rating restaurants. There just aren't many restaurants that are underrated. That is why you see so many threads on here about whether, or not, restaurants are overrated.

One restaurant I like that is never as crowded as the food deserves is La Reyna. Location is not good from a traffic stand point, but the entrees are more than worth the hassle.

No offense, but if anything, I think that Dempsey's is one of the most OVERRATED places in the city. I just don't get the love for that place.

La Reyna on Perkins if we talking food. I love that place and have never had a bad thing on the menu. It's kind of a hole though.

I've tried it all, including recommendations of some of the employees. Just found it all to be very average, nothing special.

That's a good call. I know it's there and still forget about from time to time.

I think a lot of "Northish BR" places could fall into this category.
