Read the HuffPo comment section on sequester if you dare, many liberals support sequester, in large part because of the defense spending cuts. Obama's being a bitch.

re: Obama says sequester would take 'meat cleaver' to government

The Sequester was offered by the Democrats, NOT the GOP. Obama got Jack Lew, Axelrod, Vallarie Jarett, and one more staffer to go to Harry Reid and did this in the Senate. It was not the GOP. Geez. Is the news media not going to reveal this to thr public. This a total lie. And, Teachers, firemen, and flu shot nurses, do not work for the Federal Gov't, but LOCAL and state gov't. You can't cut them, the Fed's don't pay them. I can't believe these lies are said by a grown man and President of the U.S.

I might be wrong, but I think the cuts would only brings us back to the spending levels of 2011? If so, how can he argue that it would harm us to go back to levels that we already operated by under his own administration? With built in spending, these aren't real cuts anyway, but a reduction in the increases of increase!

re: Obama says sequester would take 'meat cleaver' to government

Bob Woodward explains that it was Jack Lew in Obama's administration that was the brain child of the sequester.

ETA: if the GOP sticks to their guns it means that Obama misjudged the GOP's resolve.

quote:

“It’s a little more complicated than that,” Lew responded, “and even in his account, it was a little more complicated than that. We were in a negotiation where the failure would have meant the default of the government of the United States.”

“Did you make the suggestion?” Burr asked.

“Well, what I did was said that with all other options closed, we needed to look for an option where we could agree on how to resolve our differences. And we went back to the 1984 plan that Senator [Phil] Gramm and Senator [Warren] Rudman worked on and said that that would be a basis for having a consequence that would be so unacceptable to everyone that we would be able to get action.

Uh oh. This is why Obama is throwing a temper tantrum. He never thought the GOP would allow the sequester to go through.

Obama says sequester will cost jobs, but massive tax increases won't.

That'd be awesome if the analogy was accurate.

The GOP (Boehner) needs to change his fricking message, as usual. Sticking with it is one thing... claiming its bad and sticking with it is counterproductive.

But, I still predict that the GOP will come back to revise the cuts, if the sequester actually does go through. They won't be able to weather the media finding some laid off government workers crying and weeping "How could they do this to me and my children???"

The idea for the sequester did originate with the White House during the 2011 debt-ceiling crisis, according to Bob Woodward’s latest book, “The Price of Politics,” but the deep spending cuts were never intended to go into effect. The sequester was meant to hang over deficit reduction talks like an anvil – something that would be so painful that it would never be allowed to fall.

Well, it sounds like they don't know how to lead an fix problems.

Which has been Obama's weak point all along. Unfortunately he was re-elected and many people still believe in him.

But but that's 20% cut of federal employees pay every two week.

I know that each agency can choose how to cut their operations and maintenance account monies. They don't have to furlong civilian.

This is the answer.

You don't need a genius to do what he is doing.

All you need is an ideologue without a moral fiber or sensible neuron in his entire body.

re: Obama says sequester would take 'meat cleaver' to government

How about we take a 'meat cleaver' to the oval office and impeach one barack hussein obama. I would argue that at least 60% of our ecomonic and social problems is caused by his insane policies. The other 30% can be traced to the democrat controled Senate and the remaining 10% to RINO Republicans. America needs an enema.....really really bad.

For example the fallout from obamacare has already begun....with admission to medical schools dropping as our nations brightest opt not to go into medicine. As an indication of things to come, Florida is experiencing a severe drop in the number of physicians as many simply choose not to practice. Welcome to Cuban style medical care as practiced by obamacare. Don't like the prospects of waiting months to get life saving surgery.....then send a 'thank you' note to Supreme Court Justice John Roberts. Thank him for stabbing Americans in the back.

Meanwhile to aggravate an already dismal economy energy prices are skyrocketing with gasoline prices blowing past $ 5.00/gallon on many regions. In spite of this severe energy crunch the obama administration still opposes the building of the Keystone Pipeline, and offers electric 'sewing machine' cars as a viable solution to the energy crisis.

There are bright spots. Texas is doing great with a pro-business environment and tort reform. Texas loves businessmen and the governor travels across this once great nation inviting businessmen to come to Texas. Many are taking him up on his offer, to the loathing of anti-free market marxist radicals in the obama administration.

But don't bother obama about that....he's way too busy on another vacation in Florida playing golf with Tiger Woods.

AMERICA....IMPEACH OBAMA NOW!! Before it's too late.
