Another Vernon Gholston?

This is what I was thinking. Hope no, looks like Tarzan plays like Jane

That was Gholston in the pros maybe, but he was a top 10 pick that was a stud in college.

I wouldn't be surprised if Herron and Hunter are the starting ends by the end of the season.

Or at least the two playing the most.

While this could unfold, its going to be rasco and hunter. If rasco is passed up then i would be very surprised considering hes seen the most pt at de.

But let's wait to declare him a beast till we see him play

Oh lighten up Francis!

No one has or has had a problem declaring Fournette a beast before he even plays his senior year of HS. No one had a problem declaring Freak a beast before setting foot on campus...or Montgomery or PP...the list goes on.

If he doesnt get injured...based on the eye test...of course he should be a beast. just go with it..

While I like both Herron and Hunter a lot, Rasco is going to be the guy next year. We will rotate at the other end spot, but Rasco pretty much has 1 DE spot locked up. People tend to overlook him because hes played behind Mingo, Sam, and Lavar Edwards and wasnt on the field that much. And since people havent seen him play that much they think hes not as good and move onto to the new up and coming player. Rasco is our best DE right now. I know people are very high on Herron and Hunter, and they should be because I am too. Herron is a big time prospect and it sounds like Hunter is developing into a nice player. But, Herron is still in high school and Hunter played on ST and looked good, but played little at the DE spot other than mop up duty. Rasco is our guy, and I think people are going to be very impressed with him.

Hunter is already bigger than both Mingo and Sam. If I had to compare his stature to anyone, it would be Tyson Jackson.

I don't see Hunter getting to anywhere near 290 by the time he is a senior. I think he will be between 260-270 when he leaves for the NFL. Jackson is almost at 300 right now.

You are spot on about rotation and depth.

Perhaps our new OC can help keep the O on the field a lot more this year!

I would be very surprised, indeed. Rasco beat out Hunter last year. It would be a little unusual to see them flip - not impossible, but unlikely. Rasco played well last year, so I'd be surprised to see one of the freshman beat out this third year veteran. For both guys to beat him out would be really surprising.

Everyone on this topic has completely left out Lewis Neal. He is an absolute beast.

But...but, you only have 24 posts! Sorry, had to get that in before one of the morons.

You're right. We're just guessing about all of these guys, but we can't tell how much fire is in their heart. No one was predicting Mo or Tyrann making a splash early at CB.

Hunter, Herron the future is bright, and it'll be very nice to use them in the rotation, but I have to think it's Rasco's job to lose on one side. What gets me pumped up is the thought that in the fourth quarter we could be bringing in Hunter, warmed up from some ST work but still going 110% to raise hell on a tired O Line.

Stephen Rivers played just up the road from where I live. The kid is the real deal but when will Les give him a chance to show his stuff. I like Mett. but so far he has under preformed, maybe this year.

Murray is a very good QB and the other one beat us last year. Our defense contained Driskel's running but he ran for 177 yards and 3 TD's in the very next game against Vandy.

i think Hunter will be solid.. but maybe hold off a year to call him the next Gholston
