I've been waiting for Sciambra to come back so bad. I think most thought Bregman would be a great ball player here but he is starting out stronger than I thought. Team looks good and can't wait to see us progress.

No doubt Brag..Bregman played much better than I had hoped. I also loved the emotion he showed out there. He was pumped up the whole weekend.

I mentioned that to a friend. He seemed genuinely excited every time he got on base. It reminded me a little of Mikie Mahtook.

Hopefully, it's a good omen.

Looks like we'll be dodging rain all week.

A big question coming up this week is who will Mainieri throw on Thursday. Not sure you bump Nola up a day this early into the season.

Have a feeling we may see Cotton/committee.

I really hope he doesn't do this. PM is better than that.

I'm sure after the first weekend of pitching in a real game environment in that atmosphere, I bet Nola and Eades will be a little sore/tender. Pushing them up would be a bad move.

With McCune possibly injured, I dont know who we would start. Bourgeois?

Good question, I think he will bump them all though. Need to get accustomed to it, since we have several series this year that start on Thursday.

I'm sure he'll bump them. They'll be fine.

Week 1: LSU Baseball in Review
Overall, I’m pleased with what I saw.

And Maryland was a quality opponent, not a cupcake. Last year their RPI was 33. In week 1 in 2012, they took 2 of 3 at UCLA, which finished the regular season with the #1 RPI.

Last year we opened against Air Force (RPI 261) and Alcorn (RPI 273).

Yeah, well the rest of our OOC weekend opponents will make up for that.

SLU will likely throw Andro Cutura. Dude is pretty decent, SELU hitters have no idea what they are about to see with Nola though.

Lions lost their best two hitters last season and even then were a small ball team.

Most impressed with Jacoby's approach at the plate, and of course Bregman.

On the mound Nola impressed me more than I thought he would.

I think we should go:
Thursday-Glenn
Friday-Nola
Saturday-Eades
