10.4 lb bass caught in the verret area over the weekend (pic fix pg 2)

that is huge for the area, don't think i've ever heard of one that big from there

You'd think after 20 years of the 14" minimum size limit for the area and the stocking efforts a few more of these would show up. Friend has one over 9 on wall from lake itself, caught it by the sandbar before Andrew.

Read an article a few years ago in the Sportsman a guy had one over 10 lbs. in a club tournament. Still damn nice and good to here regardless.

i read that they stocked the area with florida strain in the late 80's and some that size were caught in the mid 90's....nothing like that in recent years, there was an 8 lber caught last week i know of also

don't care to discuss the size limit again, but did u notice they didn't do any shock studies on the verret side? found that interesting

That's what gets me, the feed is there and they have ample habitat. Verret side always produces bigger fish it seems, but I really thought once they started stocking the florida stain pretty aggressively, both sides should have been producing hammers on the regular.

So what's your guess on location? Cheramie or north?

Rock knows what hes talking about. Hes the only person I know whos phone rings when the pros are headed down here for tips. Hes been involved in a lot of tagging and tracking fish also.
