Okay, so like I said, fired before the playoffs. I wasn't aware he got a ring, I know they only get around 150 of them, so didn't think they'd give a former coordinator one. As for contributions to the season, I just look at that as doing it out of friendship, but I'm not getting into that.

Then why say he doesn't have one?

He coached Drew Brees (when he was with the Chargers), Philip Rivers, and now Flacco.

Did you see the number of yards per game, in the pros, keep that in mind, his playcalling averaged those 13 games?

quote:

Cameron was fired with three games remaining in the 2012 season and the Ravens 9-4 and averaging 344.4 yards per game. They improved their productivity under Jim Caldwell to more than 424 yards per game in their run to the Super Bowl title

He wanted to pass more, Harbaugh wanted more running with Rice and he (Cameron) was stubborn about it. That's why he was let go.

If that's what he does at the professional level, I'm looking forward to seeing what he does at the collegiate level.

Sorry if I came across as a jerk but I'm not a fan of posters that get on here thinking they know everything. There are a lot of them and it's usually the new posters. I know I don't know everything.

So, I was a little skeptical with your posts. No harm intended.

Anyway, sorry about coming across like a jerk.

1. I'm a fan of the hire.
2. I just thought he didn't get a ring. Didn't think it meant that much to anyone.
3. I'm not trying to start something here. This is me simply stating that I thought Baltimore didn't give him a ring.

If the universe didn't hate LSU Les would be 4-2 against Saban and LSU would have back to back national titles.
Honestly, I believe that is only a mild exaggeration. People have been programmed to completely forget how narrowly Bama beat out Ok. State for that mulligan in '11 (and how much ESPN lobbied the Harris Poll and Coaches Poll voters to get that margin). And now the narrative it totally that Saban has just dominated when in reality his season was far less impressive than ours, and barely as impressive as Ok. State's that year. Losing at home while being held to less than a TD in an OT game? shite, if Les did that, people on here would be burning him at the stake no matter how many National Championships he won.

How about: Do what we did last time, without the awful prevent defense in the last minute.
I could live with a prevent defense in the last minute, if we didn't wait until they were already in FG range and then abandon the prevent to give up the TD!

I think we take our coach for granted, get sucked in by his awe shucks speech and smile. I think he is smart like a fox. He certainly saw the need for an OC even without input from the rant or maybe he read the rant and figured everyone was right. Then he makes a great hire in a very experienced full time OC and given the talent we pull in every year, i got to believe nothing but good thing are in our offenseive future. Coaches that underestimate Les will do so at their peril.

You are really right about this. Two teams screwed that year - OSU and LSU. Saban must have some very big chips to call in, because OSU deserved the shot at #1 LSU on 1/9/12. Bama had already taken theirs, and lost. Close, but lost.

Look at history. Do-over games are almost always going to suck for the previous winner. Talk about luck? Saban had it for that one.

Do what we did last year without the prevent Def. that gave them the game. We should have played them strait up as we dominated the game except the last minute! Only thing that bothers me is if Les does not let Cam calls the plays.

Yep. I can't wait or the first time we beat Alabama. Haven't beat them since 1998, right?

Yeah you are right. He just walked into an 80% winning percentage blindly....

GFY with this shite. At some point in time, you also had less than 1000 posts. Did you consider yourself to be "not worthy of serious posting" at that time? Oh, and just because some of us have more things to do than sit on a message board all day it doesn't make us less intelligent or articulate. I've seen just as many idiotic posts by some that have over 10,000 posts. Last, I could massively raise my post counts by simply posting an emoticon or some snide comment that doesn't further discussion in response to every post I see; but that wouldn't make me any more intelligent nor a "better poster."

There, my soapbox moment is over. Nothing specifically against you; I just hate seeing posts that try to compare someone's post count with their ability to post coherently and intelligently.
