dont get the love for deano's. its ok, but nothing great. the pizzas are nothing but meat. barely any cheese or sauce.

Best Pizza in Louisiana
I had an awesome pizza from some little hole in the wall place in New Orleans.

It was from some temporary building across from the Ramada on Bourbon.

I don't remember seeing a sign. You just walked up to a slide up window and told them what you wanted.

I know the place you are talking about and had many a slices from there. it was damn good. unfortunately they closed it down a couple of years ago and made that area a courtyard for the club next door. sucked cause I loved that place.

I mean I like Johnny's and Fleur de Lis, but best pizza in Louisiana? Come on.

Yeah, pretty much.

And don't you think this is a rather subjective question? There are going to be many different responses & opinions. Depends on your tastes, & what type of pizza you like. For example, I don't like sweet crust or sauce. I like the toppings very finely chopped or ground and in proper proportion to each other & the type of crust. Both of these places suit my tastes.

Fleur de Lis

I have eaten there twice and IMO kinda overrated. At least 3 pizza places better in NOLA.

Also, Johnny's gets a lot of hate on here, probably because it's originally from Monroe and 95% of locations are from North Louisiana. They can't have good food up there, can they!?!?!

A Johnny's Sweep the Swamp is about a good of a pizza as you'll eat.

Of the places I've eaten, NY Pizza, Moe's, Huey P's, and Theo's are up there for me. Theo's has a damn good thin crust.

I'm not fond of seafood on pizza, but I love the Sweep the Kitchen.

Grew up on Pizza Village and Alesi's (had an all meat last night...dee-lish) and a little Deano's (the best thing there are the crawfish nachos).

Looks like I'll need to check out Fleur di lis

Theo's and Huey P's are good. Moe's pizza is not good. It's just big

Personally, I prefer PieWorks (Shreveport) to Johnny's.

Most of the places listed in this thread are not great. Johnny's (I am guessing you are talking about that North La. crap that has recently found its way into the BR area...) is a step above Papa John's.

The best pizza I have had in the BR/LA area is Mama Dela's and Dolce Vito (sp? on the last one).

I have not had Roma's, but a friend of mine with good taste said that it was almost as good as Mama Della's! I need to try it, but I seldom go that way.
