If that doesnt win best picture, frick the Academy. One of the best films I have ever seen.
Of course it wont win, because torture is bad, mmmmK.

Loved it....I also think its the best overall film of the year

It probably won't win because of how liberal the voters are and it'll probably end up going to Argo

last 30 minutes are some of the best I've ever seen in a film.
I have to listen to the nothing else matters song from the trailer every day on my spotify at work

Argo was very good as well, any other year that would be fine.
But i have never sat through a 3 hour movie before that kept the tension up the entire time like ZD30. It was perfect.

When i saw argo, i was on the edge the entire time. Cause they could've gotten caught at any moment.
ZDT? It was just a normal guy flick to me. Sure, we all new the ending, but nothing kept me interested like argo did.

I loved it but I think argo.wins it all

the sad thing with Argo is that its #3 out of 3 films directed by Affleck. both Gone Baby Gone and The Town were better.
Zero Dark Thirty should win over Argo, but it won't happen.

Based on the reviews this has been getting on this board and several other sites, I'm ashamed that I haven't gone to see it yet. I'll take care of that tomorrow.

I don't envy the Academy this year. Some seriously brilliant films. ZDT was fantastic.

I didn't realize it was such a long movie but I still really want to see it.
I've heard nothing but good things about it.

I liked ZD30 a bit better than ARGO. Both good movies.
I thought this year had a handful of movies that were really good and would be a perfectly reasonable Best Picture winner, but I didn't find any one movie to blow me away. ZD30 probably was the one that had me the most enthralled.

Loved ZD30 also and my favorite among the Best Picture nominees that I've seen. I won't be upset when Argo wins since I've liked that one too, but it's really unfortunate that the torture controversy has pretty much killed its chances at the major awards. Chastain did a fantastic job too.

Lincoln is gonna win best picture, but Zero Dark Thirty deserves it

Argo is entertaining but it's not special.
Could have been a made for TV flick right after the crises. Had that so familiar - run-of-the-mill hostage flick we've seen...all the same shots of how security officials looks at them with suspicion...and you think they're caught...I mean that airport scene has been done shot for shot over and over...the "almost getting caught" ensemble. If you think the movie is amazing, unique or Oscar worthy, you need to see more movies from the 80's...like Midnight Express, Not Without My Daughter, the Nazi films, Carlos the Jackal flicks.
What happend to Life of Pi? Remember when everyone on here said that was going to win?
Zero Dark sounds like it will split votes even with darling Obama behind the deed...“Zero Dark Thirty,” the best- reviewed film of 2012" - but "“If they (voters) perceive that this movie somehow adopts the Bush narrative, that could affect the movie," said former Republican U.S Senator Fred Thompson.

There is a small element that hates it for the torture scenes and another group hates Django for the use of the N word. Probably will be enough to keep either of the best two movies of 2012 from winning Best Picture.

I agree. It's definitely my Best Picture winner. No question.
