can you suggest a few of his better (in your opinion) efforts? the shite i hear on the radio hasn't been all that impressive. I don't see what all the praise is based on. TIA.

his live stuff is better than his studio stuff, imo. he takes more liberties with riffs and solos when playing live. the name of the album/dvd that link was taken from is 'where the light is'. quality album. also, search youtube for john mayer keith urban. they put on one hell of a show for cmt's crossroads

the radio material isn't his strongest material. the john mayer trio, continuum, & battle studies are superb records.

His live stuff is infinitely better than what you hear on the radio. For lack of a better way to explain it, I will say he goes into greater guitar detail when he's live.
