What role is expected for Fehoko Fanaika this year?

6-6, 340 JC transfer. Is he good enough to take a starting spot? Where does he play? Excited about potential upgrades on the offensive line both with young guys having gotten experience and an older guy coming in who might be ready to contribute right away.
Will he be able to contribute significantly and possibly start, or is he being brought in for depth?

Hopefully this leads to competition amongst the returning guys and the newcomers.

It'll be all in part to his transition from JC to Division 1. Some guys pan out some don't. There is definetly an opportunity for him to step in and start or play a lot.

yep, and with faulk going to the draft, its a toss up on who will be the other tackle opposite of alexander

for some reason I thought he was a center

would love to see La'el move to tackle. that LT spot was a problem last year. we had to provide help and scheme around the LT spot all year and that handcuffs what the offense can do. La'el reminds me of Larry Allen. he can dominate as a road grader at G but he has hte footwork and build to play outside and my guess is he will be dominant at LT. We have plenty of young G talent to move in and fill his G spot

My opinion was just a guess, but I don't think he starts Game 1. He will definitely play a lot though. Can't have too many big strong bodies to come in fresh when the defense is getting tired.

imo, it will be a competition between FF, hawkins and possibly edinburg (sp)

I'm sure we all hope that he is game ready and contributes from the git. the kid is a monster and his JC film was impressive so hopefully he can help shore up an area of need.
get better.

I'm actually pretty excited that Stud is now solely in charge of the OL... seemed like it was very inconsistent last year (I know injuries blah blah blah, but we had those same injuries when we dominated the line against Bama).
But I agree, the more competition for spots, the better.

I think he will make a great slot receiver. I definitely could also see him in the Wildcat.

Saw this kid (La'el) a lot in HS, not only in games but at practice and just being around him in general. Sooooo much talent. I can def see him moving to that LT spot, and being damn good at it. Good kid, too.

I hope there's competition at the RT spot as well. We'll have quite a few guys who could contribute.
Collins
Wiliford
Porter
Turner
Alexander
Hawkins
FF
E Washington (if fully back from injury)
These guys here I believe have the talent/potential to start, just getting the right combo.

Is he a sophmore or will he take a redshirt?
