How bout Jalen Courtney's contributions last night? He looked pretty good in his limited minutes. I didn't see the whole game, but I saw him get a couple buckets and look impressive doing it.

Amazingly he has had 4 games in which he had over a 45 adjusted SoS. He has come in and done well with his minutes. Then he has also had games where he came in and got nothing done and turned it over. As long as he doesn't try too hard he has been able to contribute in limited action.

I like seeing him in there occasionally. I thought he would be a 10 minute/gm guy coming into the season, but I think his injury situation is worse than I thought. Lingering health issues make it hard to rely on someone.

Nice win for the roundballers. We will take out UA-T and should have beat them in that hell hole they call a coliseum.

They mentioned on the broadcast last night that there will be a College Gameday feature on Del Piero on Feb 23rd

I imagine getting it done later tonight wouldn't be bad. I'm sure no one would hold it against you.

Well, I am working on it now, will probably add it to OP in this thread so we don't lose this thread too early.

Not gonna do SoS comparison, but I'll do decent analysis.

Baseball tonight and my cousins soccer game will make it tough to get done later today.

Im pumped about this. Should be awesome.

I also added Kentucky @ Tennessee to the SEC game list for Saturday. That should be a good game.

I was really happy for him!

Personality-wise, Jalen is my favorite player. He's an awesome kid and if you watch the bench at all, you'll see he's an incredibly enthusiastic team supporter. He's a great cheerleader and consistently positive. I think that's an important role.

On the court he lacks confidence. He's not a quick thinker in fast action, and sometimes looks like a deer-in-headlights! But I think last night, when he saw Johnny light it up, and the S.Carolina forwards being small, he loosened up.

He's not really an SEC caliber player, but I think he can give us a few good minutes per game, and rest Johnny. Especially if we are ahead by 10+ pts and he doesn't feel a huge responsibility to score/rebound, because, ironically, that's when he'll score/rebound.

We have recently used it 3/4 court rather than full court and it seems to be good for us. It doesn't cause as many turnovers, but it still takes 10 seconds off the shot clock and doesn't tire out the players as much.

Which is exactly how we should be using it this year, now next year when we have more horses in the stable so to speak, I wouldn't mind seeing them go back to a full court press and doing it more often. It's very effective

How long has Marcus Rodrigue been wanting to put that up there. I bet he was so pissed when we lost the first time. hahahaha

I think LSU still has a legit shot at 4th seed so it may be better if Arkansas can win this one. We still play Missouri and LSU could pass them if they continue winning.

That would be cool but since the NCAA tournament is out of the question without winning the SEC tournament LSU's best shot will be if they get the 6 seed. That way they avoid Florida until the finals. That gives someone else a chance to upset them. They would start off with the 11/14 winner and then get the 3 seed.. then 2 seed.

I'm of the mindset that the less chances to lose, the better chance we have of making it. I'd be happy with 6th, but I think having the first two rounds off would be very good for us. I'd rather play Florida after just playing 1 game than after playing 3. It's a long tournament and LSU isn't deep. I think we would have to try a 40 min of hell type think against Florida, but I'd rather do it the 2nd game of the tournament rather than the 4th.

Either way, the chances are small. I'd rather be able to say we were 4th in the SEC than 6th no matter what.
