why doesnt this movie get talked about more. Isn't it a true story and when they show the "actual" footage of the hypnosis and abduction, it is the actual footage. Or was it all fake.

Fake and fake website and fake doctor and...

Still creepy.

I saw it in the theater and I was the only one in there. Creepy when the Alien shows up.

All the "footage" is fake, but that part of Alaska does have an incredibly high disappearance rate IRL. That being said, the movie still creeps the frick out of me.

I had an argument with a girl at work about this movie. I was talking about my vacation to Alaska and she asked me if I was scared to go there b/c of the alien abductions? I was just like WTF? I'd never heard of the movie, so I quickly googled and showed her it was 100% fake. She still didn't believe me. There are some dumb m'fer's out in the world.

As for the high disappearance rate, I did read a theory that said many of those who go missing are eskimos. Apparently a lot of them get shitfaced a lot and go for walks. They basically freeze to death and then their bodies are found during the Spring thaw. Not sure if this is reliable info either, but it sure as hell makes more sense than alien abductions

It's all fake, but I think this movie does the "found footage" formula better than any film before it.
