Man, I was just looking at the top players in that class. It's going to be some really sick shite. It's going to be stacked.

I didn't even realize that Tony Brown was in Beaumont. I knew he had a sister coming to LSU, but hell, that is practically a LA kid based off location anyways. Add in Paris, and that is the best two from TX, by a long shot.

Hand is good, but Fournette is the best player in the country, IMO.

While next year will be good, I must say, this year is an elite class as well. Looking at who we got in this year, this class is going to be more than great in the end, in its' own respect.

I'm not knocking Louisiana's talent for 2014, but no class can spark a dynasty.

As good as Alabama's 2008 class was they wouldn't have accomplished anything without key contributors from previous classes and subsequent classes.

What you can hope for is a good 2-3 years of core players that are complemented with other players that establish depth.

Depth is what starts dynasties, not great classes.

We only have 3 2014 commits so far. Let's not get ahead of ourselves.

Damn I actually agree with tide saint. Could next years class possibly be the best ever at Lsu. Yes. But no one class will set a dynasty. It takes a lot of classes like that such as 5 of 6 #1 classes like bama. But numerous top 5 classes like Lsu could put together will keep them near the top for years to come.

I think the class of 2012 is the one that will set it up.

Kwon-Starter
Fiest-Starter in 2014 gonna play a lot this year
Vadal- Starter
Hill-Starter
Louis-Contribute
Debo-Contribute may start in 2014
Hunter-Starter
Thompson-gonna play a lot this year, starter in 2014
Hawkins-Starter
Mills-Starter
Sandolph-contribute
Dural-should see some playing time this year, may start in the future.

These are the guys that will be the ones to start a dynasty. 2013 is a good class to. This might be the best 3 year stretch LSU may ever have

You do understand that the rest of LSU's roster is also filthy with talent and depth, don't you?

The class this year was #1-#27 one of the most deep and loaded classes I have ever seen LSU pull in. The class last year had 16 freshmen playing - and most of them excelled.

LSU is just reloading.

FIFY, but more to the point of the of the thread title:

lay the groundwork

Of course. Just takes one stellar class on top of depth: 2009 class a perfect example.

2 or 3 great classes in a row is where the depth comes from. The 2012, 2013, and 2014 classes will bring extreme depth to our roster.

The thing about it is talent attracts talent. High schoolers pick schools that they think they can win championships on. After the 2013 and 2014 classes that we believe LSU can bring in, it starts to recruit itself. LSU has a framework already up. They have been winning for a while now, but these two classes could put them back over the top to lead the SEC West (and the nation subsequently) again.

Has anyone noticed that the person that started this thread only posts links to Lyons Yellin recruiting articles on nola.com? I'm pretty sure he's spamming the board for readership.
