NOAA ranks the largest snow storms on record in the United States

1. March 12-14, 1993
2. January 6-8, 1996
3. March 2-5, 1960
4. February 15-18, 2003
5. February 2-5, 1961

I was a young lad of 5 years of age when the '93 Storm hit. I'll still never forget it when my father opened the blinds to the patio door that night. It was a total white out. You could just barely see the glare of the patio light through it all. The coolest thing of all was the lightning and thunder going on while the snow fell.

I also remember the '96 Storm fairly well, too.

Yeah I was 12 going on 13 when the Spring Break snow of 93 hit. We had 7 inches here in Columbus, MS. It lasted several days. We had just got out of school for spring break on that Friday when the snow started. I remember the Jan 96 ice storm as well. Got to miss several days of school. Lost power for a few days if I'm not mistaken.
