I just took my CC class this weekend and will carry as soon as I get the permit in...

My question is, is it possible to carry in your waistband without buying a whole new wardrobe? If not what would you do? Ankle carry? Would the OB be kind enough to give me some CC holster suggestions?

The gun I'll be carrying (for now) is a Ruger LCR

Different people prefer different things and unfortunately its a lot of trial and error. Whatever u do...buy a good gun belt.

When you buy pants, get a couple extra inches in the waist. And a leather belt should work fine as long as your holster has good clips on it. I can carry in jeans and any kind of kakhi pants. If it has a belt and a few extra inches on the waist, it can be used.

EDIT: for an LCR, I would suggest pocket carry though

Have the professional model of the n82tactical coming in Friday. Tons of video reviews on YouTube, and all really positive. Wanted something that would be easy on/off, comfortable, and tuckable.

Also considering a Remora holster to wear (after work) with my scrubs or when I'm not wearing a belt. Lots of good YouTube videos on those too. Check them out.

Edited to fix link.

I agree with bapple - I highly recommend a pocket holster, though, just for the added security and trigger protection.

An example would be the Desantis Nemesis:

Reasonably priced with a good reputation.

In my humble opinion, a good belt is very important.
I have a nice leather belt made by Rafter S Gun Leather.
It is a black leather belt with kydex stiffener.
I also have a Wilderness Tactical belt for certain situations.
Both of the above belts come in 1-1/2" widths to fit inside the belt loops of my jeans.

I typically carry my G17 Appendix Inside the WaistBand.
I do have some pocket holsters for pocket carry of my various smaller sidearms.
Stellar Rigs make a good kydex one.
There are some good nylon ones.
Desantis Nemesis is an excellent little pocket holster.

Since you have a revo, I'd also suggest good speedloaders for your reloads.

Tuff Products makes some nice pocket holsters, as well as speed strips to hold extra revo rounds.

I believe your LCR is a 5-shot.
When I carry my snubs, I only load 4 rounds in my speedstrips.
It makes it easier for me to load under stress.
Two and two...

This looks like a great solution... pocket carry and a holster that prints like a wallet.

That's what I got, but the holster I ordered is not up to snuff.

When I actually start carrying I'm gonna look at something like this Stoner holster.

A 1911 with the hammer down is useless. It is single-action-only, meaning the hammer must be back for the trigger to function.

To draw the gun and have to cock the hammer or rack the slide creates another motion to the drawstroke and increases the chances of failure when you really need it. Condition 1 for 1911s. No other way.

I'm curious as to why he asked that?

Is there another way?
