It's about $250 a year extra to add in earthquake coverage.

Arkansas is due for a massive one close to Memphis.

I'm east of Memphis and I don't have coverage. I was getting quotes that were double what my homeowners premium is and all were with a super high deductible in the neighborhood of 30% to 40%.

My concerns here are fire and tornadoes.

No. I bought an extra policy for about $180 a year, but it has a 20% deductible.

Live between New Orleans and Baton Rouge and I have the earthquake endorsement on my State Farm policy just in case. I used to work for State Farm and figured I, of all people, should be the last person caught without proper coverage in case we actually do have a once in 500 year earthquake here.
Costs about $80 a year so it doesn't add much to my monthly mortgage.
