It's not as efficient

That is not necessarily true at all. Since we know this example (and every other fricking thread ever) contrasts Kobe and Lebron, then yes, 30/7 is likely more efficient.

Honestly, the games were so effective on both ends and there is a great amount of context to be considered that I do not know which stretch is more impressive.

I fail to comprehend why people disregard volume so much. Someone has to score the points.

In peak Kobe's case, it was Kobe Bryant or Luke Walton/Chris Mihm/Smush Parker. Yeah, I think I am okay with Kobe taking 40 shots a game.

In current Lebron's case, he is a great distributor and has also far superior teammates to the mid 2000's Lakers. I would be okay with Lebron taking only 15 shots, since I know that Wade and Bosh will also be contributing. My problem with the low number of shots is that it means that a number of shots could be coming from less reliable sources.

Because someone with that volume of shooting can easily set up his teammates for higher percentage shots than what they would take with the double. It's not necessarily about the number of shots. It's that the shots are being taken in spite of the defense, when an open teammate is definitely a better shot.

Smush Parker was a 37-38% 3pt guy. That's roughly 1.15 points per shot. That's a lot more than a contest fade away jumper will give you. That's why making the right basketball play is better than making tough shots.

It's inevitable now
8/10 for 23 points with around 8 left in the 3rd

You are just building a narrative here.

In 2005:

Smush Parker averaged 1.21 points per field goal attempt.

Kobe Bryant averaged 1.3 points per field goal attempt.

Of course, and that is why I maintain my stance about Kobe's high usage rate on teams with shite teammates.

I said it last year. Winning the championship unleashed the inner beast in him. I don't think we've seen the best of him yet.....not by a long shot.

What if he averaged this?

The past 10 games he is shooting over 60% and is averaging 29.5 points
