I received an 300 Blackout AR back in November. I have been shooting it with just iron sights because I cannot figure out this optic situation and it is driving my crazy.
The problem is that I want to be able to shoot both supersonic 115 grain bullets and also subsonic 240 grain bullets with the same scope. To throw another wrench into the equation, suppressed and non suppressed.

I was looking at the Leupold VX-R found here, LINK
I can use the distance knob on the left hand side and the elevation knob on the top to adjust for different bullet weights and suppressed or not. However, I am unsure that there will be enough adjustment to make these changes and it will get pretty confusing given all of the variables.

The next idea is an Eotech found here, LINK
I would combine this optic with a simple 3x flip magnifier. This leaves little to figure out and is all right there on the reticle and top of the optic. However, no fine tuning and limited to the designated weights.

My last and favorite idea, LINK

The reticle is set for 115 grain supersonics and 220 subsonics. However, I am unsure how a can will affect the accuracy. It also only has subsonic sights for 100 yards but I can guesstimate the difference.

Hopefully yall experts can figure out what the hell I am talking about and help me out. Much appreciated. I will be at work all day today but I will check back from time to time.

You're just gonna have to shoot it and see where they pattern and try to adjust from there.

Which would you recommend? The Leupold is a strong contender because I can make so many adjustments given the situation. However, having to make 20 adjustments for a 100 yard shot is a negative to me. The ACOG seems to be the most forgiving due to its well designed reticle.

I like the Eotech but it's not very forgiving. There is a great chance that my can will throw off the trajectory of the bullet and the Eotech has no solution for this.

Given your needs and desire for fine tuning, the VX-R sounds very good.

I'd go ACOG w/ RMR

I would get two scopes with Quick release mount. That way you use the one that matches the bullets you shooting.

This is what I am thinking. However, I am unsure if there will be enough adjustment room. Also, i cannot tell if it has a distance knob on the left or not. If so, I would zero at 100, turn to 400 for a 100 yard subsonic shot, 450 for a subsonic canned shot. Not sure if this is how it works or not though.

I am also considering this but I am not sure if I want the RMR on top or offset. I think I like the offset better.

Thanks but no thanks. I am looking for something with a 300 Blackout reticle.

If you get the Leupold VX-R, you can get a Custom Dial System for it.

Yeah I thought about getting the custom caps too. However, by the time I get the caps, scope, and base ill be around the cost of an ACOG. I was just hoping that someone had a concrete answer and had dealt with this before.

I have like one serious thread a month. Stay out of it.

Don't make me post the email I got back from leupod cs where they mentioned the caps, a week ago.
