I bet it wouldn't have been that high prior to this season. I am by no means saying he is a bust but I did expect more from him. Hell, Drummond almost has as many votes as Davis.

Which member of the Rising Stars Challenge would you most want to build a franchise around?

Irving

82.0%
A. Davis

10.2%
Drummond

Dum NBA fans are dum

They always have a hard on for volume scorers.. Plus Irving starred in the Nike commercial as the old man!

Irving has about reached his maximum potential... AD23 is growing and will only get better

Kyrie rookie season: 18/4/3 in 30 minutes
Davis: 12/7/1 in 27 minutes.

Relatively comparable numbers for the types of players they are.

And would you look at that, Kyrie had his minutes limited last year. :omgz: He's up to 36 mpg this season.

Lets try this poll again in 5 days after Davis dominates this game with a double double and is named the MVP.

Irving's assist/turnover rate is very bad for a starting point. 5.5 assists per game and 3.3 turnovers. As a point guard that is "not legit."

Give AD another year and it won't be an obvious choice.

Right now, Irving is definitely better. May not be a pure point, but hes a dominating scorer and well on his way to being a Westbrook/Parker- arguably already a top 5 pg in the league.

That said, the poll results are nothing more than scoring bias. Davis is always a longshot in these things. I do not doubt he will be a franchise player at all and probably better than Kyrie in the long run

No argument there, but I have serious questions about such an inefficient point guard leading a team. He shoots well, but does he improve his teammates?

I will never consider any PG top 5 without at least 2:1 assists to turnovers. He may become a top 5 scorer, but a point guard is supposed to help set up teammates, which Irving doesn't do a lot of.

Westbrook had pretty similar numbers his rookie year. He's developed into more of a passer this season. Wouldn't be surprised to see a similar projection with Kyrie.

I posted Kyrie's numbers from this year, not his rookie year. Comparing the two, you see no improvement between seasons with regards to distributing the ball.
