Re-ranking 2010 recruiting classes based on production

Hmmm...I like these look backs. It gives me an impression that Rivals is actually trying to better there current evaluations by looking back at previous recruiting classes, thus giving more credibility to their current evaluations. I could be wrong though.

That is probably about right. A very solid but not spectacular class with lots of misses in there. Could have been a lot different if Zach Lee had stayed, and Fobbs and Williams didn't have to replace Justin Hunter and Mike Davis.

I was thinking the same thing. How does a&m 2010 class warrant a number 1 reranking?

1. TAMU - agree (Moore, Joekel, Matthews are all first rounders Melena is a good back)
2. USCe - agree (not elite but very good talent)
3. Bama - disagree (#3 is too high. Milliner and Moseley are the only legit players there. Hubbard is good but easily replacable, and Foster isn't a good kicker)
4. AU - disagree (should be lower. That class helped Auburn have its worst season in over a decade. Lemonier is the only top talent there, imo)
5. ND - agree (some good talent in that group. I think they got an easy schedule this year and that helped with the success, but still a really good haul of players.)
6. OSU (haven't seen them play so I can't make a judgement. Similar to ND, I think they benefited from an easy schedule.)
7. LSU (agree. probable first rounder in Reid, Ware will be in 3rd or 4th, Simon will be in the 3rd or 4th, Wing is the best punter in the country. This wasn't a stellar class, but I can easily see the starters listed in the NFL, except maybe Boone. It depends on how he does this year.)
8. FSU (disagree. I think they should be higher. The 2010 class was a major reason why FSU was as good as they were and they had guys step up and play better than expected)
9. OU (agree. Solid, but nothing spectacular.)
10. MSU (agree. Solid group that was the core of MSU for the past couple years. Really good defense, just no offense after Cousins graduated.)

Good lord this.
We lot 2 great wideouts that year and were not replaced with equal talent.
However neither of those two won anything in college.
Makes you think what could have been with those two on the team.
Makes me so frustrated too. If they would have stuck with LSU they would have won so much more

Based on individual talent not team accomplishments and the TAMU class from 2010 is going to have 2-top 10 picks this year and probably at the least a 1st rounder next year. Based on that alone it makes their class look very good although the depth may not be there.

My quick take is that it makes since to give A&M extra credit because two guys should be early draft picks and they got a lot of top quality players that start, but just because a class contained several starters (Auburn) if that team isn't good then so what???
Also if Cam was a great get for Auburn that year (and I believe he was), how can you demote LSU and the HOney Badger because he only played two years when Cam pnly played one????
The top classes should contain the top players in the draft and on the all america and all conference teams. Classes that just contain a lot of kids who started on poor to average teams mean very little.

this wasn't done by rivals but by A&M fanboy Andy Staples (read some of his stuff about A&M over the last few years). I'm not exactly sure why he loves us so much but he clearly does. That said, I'm not sure he's wrong on this point....

Malena is a good back but some of the better players in the class are guys you probably don't know who they are.
Ogbuehi - RS-JR next year who is a two-year starter at guard. He's a natural tackle though who was beaten out by Joeckel so we've played him at guard. Should start the next 2 years at tackle and could be a late 1st rounder
Harrison - RS-JR who is a 2 year starter at guard already. Will be a first day draft pick for sure but guards aren't as desired as tackles

Agree with everyone but Showers....come on...the back up QB??!
No way the class is that good if he's a headliner, but I think the class is good, so pick someone who actually starts.
