I love that show. The one about the guy who had a beach bar in Fort Meyers, Florida was great too. He was going broke, even though he was one of four beach bars grandfathered in by the city and he was a stone's throw away from some nice condos. Turned out the dude was too busy trying to screw bartenders to run his business right.....

He was also on Hotel Impossible. He's no better on the hotel side. They still had room keys.

Pirate episode is a classic. Those people were nuts. But naming the place corporate bar was a total slap in the face to the "pirates."

I think we all agree that naming it corporate was a terrible idea

But then again, you could have named itd "We served shite for food" and probably got more business than the pirate bar.

If i werethe show id be asking for the 50-100k they just dropped on the building back

The employees being all empowered over the "soul" of the place was laughable.

I'm pretty sure Turtle Bay is/was not on Bourbon.

Yeah I was confused watching this episode. The only Turtle Bay I've ever heard of is on Decatur.

Probably sounds more interesting if you tell people its on Bourbon

yeah but that would be an outright lie. the central tenet of the episode is that it's across the street from Tropical Isle.

I kind of figured that was bullshite because theres no way he could even get off the ground building a replica bar like 30 feet away from Tropical isle

According to their website

Two Locations to Serve You
in the French Quarter...
1119 Decatur St. • 615 Bourbon St.
504-586-0563

Nothing comes up for "Spirits"

Bohannan is still bitter, though, about his cups. "Bar Rescue" produced a giant, blinking cup to hold Spirts on Bourbon's new signature "Resurrection" cocktail. "But guess what," Bohannan said, "the cup he had made was $27 (each). There might be a science behind it, but there is no math."

I knew those cups had to be expensive. They were cool in concept, but pretty horrendous to look at.

Its apparently a railing in a bar that they put close enough to a wall so that people have to turn sideways to get through which is supposed to create interaction between two people

Where he got the name butt funnel from, idk. He must have invented it in a bar in Tennessee

Surprisingly thats the first person here to say anything about the Butt funnel

This is pretty legit

quote:

Once the cameras stopped rolling, "Bar Rescue" still worked with Bohannan. For example, Bohannan thought the original barstools provided by the show weren't sturdy enough to withstand the demands of Bourbon Street rowdiness.

"The stuff that they messed up on, they could have walked away but they came through and fixed it," he said. "They brought their credit card and fixed it."

So the question is, does "Spirits" still exist? Nothing comes up under that name and Turtle Bay still lists two locations

Spirits name and concept was way better than Turtle bay but the owners could have put it back to turtle bay

One question I have always had is how far in advance do they plot out the new names and themes?

The reason I ask, is for the bars that he changes the names, legally they would have to file paperwork and such with the city/state way in advance...

They claim they do it all in 3 days

Also, you think that its just a team of 5-10, but its over 50 people.
