What's your favorite Mexican/Tex-Mex restaurant in Houston?

I know Houston is very large. Any suggestions for the downtown or Galleria area?

Or any of your favorite restaurants in the area.

Thanks!

Cafe Adobe
Irma's
Sylvia's Enchilada Kitchen
Taqueria Arandas
El Tiempo

Really too many to name. I would avoid Chuy's, overrated.

Hard to beat original ninfas on navigation downtown. It's soon good. Homemade tortillas and badass margaritas

They invented the fajitas. Other ninfas are a spinoff knock off. This one is the only one run by ninfa family

High end? Hugo's

Original Ninfa's on Navigation (nothing to do with the chain)

Tex/Mex...El Tiempo/Papacito's

If you don't mind eating from a truck...go to West Alabama Ice House for a few beers and walk across the street to Tierra Caliente for some of the best tacos in town.

The Greek place there is good too. I see I have different choices than everyone else. Looks like I need to try ninfas.

Oh and you need to go to brio. It's just off west Alabama and Kirby that place is awesome. They have really good brunch too.

I get the tortellini with vodka sauce, but even better is their eggs Oscar. It's eggs Benedict with a shrimp and crab cake and potatoes.

Everyone seems to be a lupe fan or an el tiempo fan. But I still like Guadalajara the best.

In and if you like pho just go somewhere in midtown that stuff is legit.
