5 game stretch in a 82 game season. Big deal.

Arguably the best 5 game stat line of anyone who's ever played the game.

Let's just all agree to ignore him. If no one responds to him does he really exist?

Why?

he's not nearly the same player as lebron or durant. not in the same class

if he wins, it will be because of his hometown media (like rose a few years ago)

it's a bad precedent to have such a major award determined by how big the player's city is

Without him, they would be a lottery team.

bullshite. not with chandler, felton, kidd, JR smith, and now amare all playing well

These two words should never go together.

I'm not a Lebron fanboy but Harden couldn't hold his jock.

If I had shown you the stats without the name for this four game stretch, you would have guessed LeBron. It is clear that you haven't watched Harden play much as THE guy.

Cool. MVP is for the the player most valuable to his team, not the best player in the league.

Why the hell would a LA voter give a shite what a Chicago or New York guy has to say about anything?

Explains why Steve Nash won over Kobe right? BTW, Miami is the 4th largest Urban area in the US.

Chandler is legit on the boards and on the defense end, but he is severely limited on offense.

Felton, Kidd, and JR Smith are all shooting around 40%.

Amare has played a grand total of 18 games this season.

Like I said, without Melo, they are a lottery team. Maybe if they had a decent SF in his place they'd squeak in with 40 wins, but without Melo, they'd be around 18-20 wins right now.

I like stats as much as the next guy but if you're telling me you'd rather have Durant guarding an opposing team's best player in the last 5 minutes of a game over LBJ then I'd have to disagree.

agreed...
even their defensive efficiency "numbers" are so close durant's 100.2 to lebron's 101 that it's a toss up. similar to comparing PER's they're 29 to 30, so close that you can't even truly use that as a comparison and that PER gives lebron the advantage.

and durant is the better passer? lebron has 2.5 more assists and 0.2 less TO's per game while handling the ball more often than durant does. scoring at an UNBELIEVABLE percentage, including today's 67% for 30+pts and the whole last what 7 games? I'm sorry, but at the moment durant is 1b to lebron's 1a.

one in the same

NYC is big enough to sway things, plus they'll just start giving melo all the pub that rose got (and more) and it will sway people

most voters of such awards are complete idiots who barely know what PER is

it's not close to that ranking in terms of media market. it's in the 12-20 range (Depending on your source)

nash had the support of the media. kobe was a villain in those times, and the LA media didn't push him b/c many hated him (for making the lakers trade shaq) at that time.

this is why lebron didn't win it 2 years ago. the media hated him the same way that they hated kobe

chris copeland has actually had some big games when melo had to sit. and it's a 4. melo basically plays the 4 now

not even close and the fact you believe that tells me what I need to know about you.

:rotflmao: This isn't a political election bruh.

Which explains why they work in the industry and you don't, right?

Not what you originally said. Stop trying to move the goalposts. Also, you didn't address the Nash-Kobe case. Hell there have been other "small" market guys to win it over the years: Garnett, Robinson, and Malone come to mind.

:rotflmao: :rotflmao: No they didn't. Fans did. The media ate it up.

He's had 3 "big" games (games with over 20 points). Two of those were w/o Melo and they lost both. They won the game with Melo.

He had to play the 4 because the starting 4 was out. He only starts at the 4 but he's still a 3. Hell if anything that's more of a case for him because he has to play out of position.
