I've been looking at their revolvers on Gunbroker but I'm curious as to the quality when compared to S&W as well as Ruger. I'm not a huge wheel gun man but would like to add one to the arsenal. Does anyone own one or have any experience with one? Are there certain generations to avoid (meaning years, the company has had several ownership changes).

Got a 44 mag with a 2" barrel as well as a 6" barrel. No issues what so ever. Got a scope mounted on it for doe killing.

I bet that 44 with a 2" barrel is a pleasure to shoot.

As far as I know, they've never made a bad one.

Dan wessons are sweet arse guns. I wish I had one.

Never shot it with the short barrel. I think it came with a 4" as well but I don't have it.

I've got a SA 1911 that will do that for you.

The thought has crossed my mind to put a scope on one of the barrels (6") and do a little handgun hunting? I'm looking at a .357 though. Can you or Downshift comment on that caliber for deer hunting?

A 357 will absolutely kill a deer. As with many larger rifle calibers the shot placement is crucial.

That's the place of manufacture on the one I'm looking it. It comes with 3 barrels (4", 6", & 8"). I'm probably going to have to pay through the nose for it though. Do you know the market on these?

Go to gun broker and compare. Be sure you are doing an apples to apples comparison. If you buy do some learning on how to change barrels. It can be dangerous if done wrong.

Judge,
A 357 Magnum will surely kill a deer given the right circumstances, but given the choice, I'd prefer a 44 Mag as it's so much more flexible.
