there were probably 500 on the small lake I live on. I just knew they were eating white perch, but turns out it was shad. A bald eagle swept down several times to try and nab one of them, pretty awesome to watch.

I had one dive bomb me paddling to one of my fishing spots one afternoon... I came between the momma and the lil ones on accident... First instinct was to jab it with the paddle and ended up breaking its neck..

The kid i was with still tells that story every day as it was the funniest thing he has seen in his life

and yeah they are EVERYWHERE down here.

To my understanding they are federally protected due to a treaty with the japanese. They use them to fish. It is apparently a really high dollar fine. I was told 10k per offense

It's illegal for sure. Think they were endangered at some point. I know quite a few people that have popped them thinking they were specs. On the flip side, I've had a bunch of specs fly bye low and slow and thought they were cormorants.

The ones you call in with a steady cadence of saying watermelon into your call, when they get close and you trying to get them to drop their landing gear, softly whisper fried chicken into call.

On Lake Guntersville up here in N. Bama them SOBs killed an entire island with their droppings. Get too close to it..and it REEKs of their crap. Totally trash.

I hate a water turkey.

Presidential Geese...Never heard that one..but I heard another one with respect to "Geese"...and I can see the relationship.
