Supposedly he was stubborn about making offensive changes and him and Harbaugh bucked heads.

He and Flacco had a falling out and in the NFL qb's are more powerful than coordinators. Simple as that.

you realize he average 1 more carry with caldwell calling the games.

He's fed Rice the ball for years, especially in the passing game. I'm excited to bring the screens to lsu

doesn't really sound like it was a falling out. They left on good terms with one another.

yea you can tell as many people as you want that but apparently thats the word so theres no point in even correcting it anymore according to this site cam cameron was fired because he didnt give ray rice 1 more carry per game.

If Joe Flacco approached Cam and said "Coach, this isn't working because of _____, but I see ___ and believe this is the answer" Cameron would act all butt hurt and give Joe the cold shoulder.

Simply put, Cameron didn't work with Flacco or the offense. It was HIS way, not open to suggestions, and his offense became VERY predictable and very stagnant.

If you have questions with his leadership, just look at how quickly he lost the Dolphins. They almost went 0-16 the year before the Lions did.

Control freak with Mike Martz stubborn streak and ego to match.

Maybe his style will work better with college age kids/young adults, but it damn sure didn't work with mature grown adults who knew better.

Here's the real one:

He got into a bad argument with John Harbaugh in front of some players & coaches. It supposedly was pretty divisve, according to the sports writers that told me this.

When you FIRE your offensive coordinator late in the season, in the middle of a potential play-off run, it isn't on good terms.

John said all the right things, but what kind of leader would he be if he didn't?

you mean when they lost 4 QB's to injury during the course of the season? Cleo Beck and John Lemon were his QB's in Miami

He changed his offense last season

you have no idea what you are talking about. He's been in the NFL for 10+ years and fielded one of the best offenses in NFL history in 2004. Finished in the top 10 in scoring offense in half his seasons, despite having to develop young QB's in the process.

Drew Brees on Cameron:
quote:

You mentioned in your book that Cam Cameron was one of the few guys in the organization that believed in you all along. What did he mean to your career? “He was huge. Cam was huge in my career. I was with him for four years. He was the offensive coordinator while I was in San Diego for those last four years. That was a time in my career where during that stretch I got benched three or four times, they ended up drafting Philip Rivers. Cam was pretty much the one who broke the news to me. My postseason exit meeting with him after the ’03 season I went in his office, shut the door and (he said) I’m just telling you they’re either going to go out and get a free agent veteran quarterback to come in here or they’re going to draft a rookie high to compete with you. Just get ready for that. I feel like he was always very honest with me. He always did things to try to get the best out of me. There was a time or two where we would butt heads, but I think that was all part of the process of him trying to mold me into the type of quarterback he knew I could be, the type of person he knew I could be, leader and I appreciate him for that. I love the man. I think he’s a great coach and obviously I had a lot of great years with him.”
