re: Any word on Basin Bass regulations? (Posted on 2/8/13 at 2:04 pm to The Sportsman)
according to their "study" and the reasons for the drop of min size limit is because bass in this area do not survive long enough to be "really good size fish"... the only thing it will "help immensely" will be the people that can not fish will now be able to take a boat load of little fish home
The problem with the fish in the basin is it takes almost 3 years to reach 14" and then storms come through every 4ish years and wipe out all the good fish. If you eliminate a lot of the competition, they will grow faster, so that by the time they are 4 years old, they are really good size fish.
