Any big time talent from college this season to keep our eyes on. Or do we wait for tournament time for the big time players to merge.

At this point, its just really hard to tell. Our draft pick could be anywhere from anywhere as high as 3 to anywhere as low as 11, it all depends on how we finish the season.

With a higher pick I'd like Shabazz Muhammed, Cody Zeller, or Nerlens Noel lower possibly a guy like Trey Burke or Alex Poythress

But its way to early to tell

I firmly believe the FO will go BPA.

Assuming we pick in the Top 10, I like these guys by position and think they would fit best with the Pels:

PG- Marcus Smart- a guy no one really talks about, but he was one of the best high school recruits in the county. Combo type guard a la Damian Lillard.

SG- Ben McClemore- goes without saying. May go #1.

SF- Shabazz- a scoring 3 that we covet.

PF- Anthony Bennett- my favorite player in the draft. People are saying he can play 3 too, im not sure though.

C- Nerlens Noel- He's averaging 11/10/5 right now. He's raw, part Drummond/part AD23. Needs to add bulk but would be scary next to AD23.

If we fall out of the top 10

PG- CJ McCollum- his injury is causing him to fall in many mocks. Was a former top 10 talent. Another tweener PG/SG

SG- meh. Not sure here. Tim Hardaway Jr maybe. Could be a Jamal Crawford type. I dont really like Archie Goodwin.

SF- Glenn Robinson III- Huge sleeper. Could be a great value down in the draft. I think he could contribute right away.

PF- James McAdoo- He has falling off the map almost. Was once talked about as a possible #1 pick. I think he will be a better pro than college player.

C- Ike Austin- skinny, legit 7 footer. Kind of raw, but could be a nice project. Not really a banger but is intriguing.

I still don't know what he's going to be good at in the NBA.

Otto Porter.

My NBA comparison is to Luol Deng coming out of Duke.

Chad Ford on Porter
quote:

He might be a Jeff Green clone and, if he is, he'll be a bit of a disappointment. But I see some Scottie Pippen in him. With the right team and the right coach, he could be a star at the next level.

Porter is really good defensively. Coach Thompson III always raves about his defensive prowess. How he always makes the correct defensive rotation.

Porter is extremely long at nearly 6'9. I think his length is going to be a real asset defensively in the NBA.

He rebounds well, 7.5 per game, despite not being overly athletic.

Porter has drastically improved his shooting from a year ago. In fact, he has made 12 of his last 22 3-point attempts.

Porter also contributes in other areas on the floor. Averaging 2.5 APG, 1.8 SPG and 1.1 BPG.

We'd literally have the lightest frontcourt in the history of the league. Noel and Davis would never get to play together. Same with Austin.

I am big on Anthony Bennett too and would love that fit.

I am also big on Hardaway Jr., but we won't be in a spot where we can go after him. He is already what Rivers is supposed to be.

:OUR DRAFT PICK COULD BE ANYWHERE AS HIGH AS 3 OR AS LOW AS 11:

Why can't we be 1 or 2 with the lottery in play?

Because the conspiracy nuts will give David Stern a heart attack for the first back-to-back lottery win since the Magic got Shaq and the rights to Chris Webber.
