ESPN Report

Forgive me, for I have just recently caught the soccer bug. But why is it that other countries have a problem making the MLS a better league, however when Americans see one our studs in the BPL or other leagues were happy?

This Hodgson character says that if Lampard was to join the MLS, "the further afield you go, the more problematic it does become for the media to follow you, and the national team coach to follow you."

To use terms that you probably understand, think of the EPL/La Liga/Bundesliga as the NFL. The MLS is FCS in comparison (and that might be too nice).

The Brits have a problem where they value themselves more highly than they should. Yeah the Premier League is a great league but as far as national teams go, they're not quite as good as they think they are.

NFL to FCS? We're not talking about the SPL.

Haha no I completely understand that the MLS has nothing on others, but you have to start somewhere right?

I can see Lampard playing here and impacting the younger generation of our players, thus making a better league and gaining prestige.

The problem is that England doesn't care about this because of this:

surely lampard has done enough to stay at the forefront of the england manager's mind. a little bit ridiculous to say he will be forgotten about should he decide to make a move to the mls.
