Coach Jones also seems loyal to the team and I don't think he would kick Courtney unless he had to.
I know that Courtney has a desire to have a coaching career. If we needed the room, do you think CJJ would consider giving him a graduate assistant role? (and no, I haven't heard that ever discussed before, but just thinking outside the box)

I understand the occasional need, but I just hate hanging hard workers out to dry. If the room was needed, Courtney might actually prefer a position where he could help analyze/prepare game film over tearing up that knee anymore than he already has (might be a bigger help to the team too).

If possible, I think that would be best for both parties. We shall see how all of this plays out. Gonna be interesting to see how the numbers work out.

It's funny because for years we have been "saving spots" for future years. And we never filled the damn spots. It's nice to be filling the roster with good players.

Is Malone a legit player who can turn into an impact low-post guy like a Zeller or Plumlee? Or is he a long-term project?

Thanks.

That gives us 6 new guys arriving; counting Odoh who is already here.

From everything I've been told, he has been growing still. It could have easily been taken before he was 7' tall. I don't know though. I agree he doesn't necessarily look 7' tall but we will see when he gets here. He is still really young at only 17.

In between. He probably isn't gonna ever be a top 10 NBA draft pick, but he could have a lot of success at LSU if he develops well. Im hoping for a guy who can be great defending the post area from driving guards and a guy who can occasionally post up a player and get baskets.

Thanks SoS. I agree with you. We should have enough scoring with other guys coming aboard - Martin, Mickey, Quarterman and, hopefully, Victor in 2014. We just need Malone to be a presence on the boards and on defense, blocking and altering some shots. Doesn't have to score big.

Hammink started his first semester at LSU as a 17 year old. I imagine Malone will be much the same as Hammink in terms of a lot of room to grow, physically and in basketball skills.

This. Getting Malone into the fold can only help our chances of landing Dante Exum, who I think could be a Player of the Year type in 2014.

No it wasn't the second boom. JJ found out the second boom wasn't going to happen so he decided "shite, I can fix this." Did some searching on the internet and 10 minutes later... we have our second boom!

He's light years ahead of Del Piero no comparison. He's also over 7 feet and still growing . Is he super no but at 7-2 you don't have to be . He's got more body and is much more athletic then Del Piero . He obviously has a lot more playing ability . He played on the Austrialian national team he will contribute next year!

He looks like he can run....pretty athletic. Add 7 ft to that fact and this kid could end up a huge pick up. We need to get him to U high for his senior year so we can beef him up a bit. lol
