I'd rather this not happen. As much as people seem to think Courtney would leave, I don't think he'll want to. He's a leader on the team (especially emotionally) and he's a large reason why Stringer and JOB are on the team.

Since Courtney is a senior next year, I suspect he'll stay. Collins I could see transferring to just to play. With Quarterman coming in, Collins may never play.

I'd be more worried about Hickey leaving than Collins tbh. I know we all read about Hickey growing up but him and JOB3 most likely to leave. Jalen most likely to be processed. I think Collins see's a few more minutes next year with Carmouche gone. Also likely to start Junior/Senior year. We all see how Johnny brought along Malik and Shane this year right?

I could see Collins, but besides that, I don't really see anyone who would transfer willingly. Obviously coach can remove someones scholarship, but I dont think Courtney would go play elsewhere. He doesn't have a career in basketball so if I was him I'd just stay at LSU. We shall see though.

I really don't see Hickey or JOB leaving after this year. I couldn't imagine either going pro quite yet nor moving elsewhere. They both seem pretty happy with their situation.

I thought there was a connection there?

I'm pretty sure David Patrick is Ben Simmons' godfather. (God-parent, whatever. I'm not catholic so I'm not 100% on the terminology).

Not saying I think either can play in the league (not yet for sure!!) but it doesn't change the fact the kids leave early. If anyone was going to, Hickey (who has a kid, etc) and O'Bryant (highly ranked and not always the happiest at LSU) would be more likely than Collins leaving.

If it is a forced deal and not someone transferring or going pro I think they would ask Courtney to take a medical. He has a knee issue that seems to be on the verge of chronic at this point.

Brah, Hickey is a 4-year college player. A 5'11 PG who cant shoot (but is clutch) that plays good D (but limited at 5'11), has a good ast/TO ratio but doesn't get many asts is not an NBA prospect, unless he wants to go overseas.

JOB III is a LITTLE worrisome, but I was only worried if he was a double double machine from here on out, and last game he really struggled again with that for the first time in 6 games. I think he'll have more double doubles, but not enough this year where he thinks of jumping. The fact the team we have coming in next year will help out JOB III's NBA stock so much because everyone wont always be so focused on him in the post is a huge selling point.

It's up in the air, he's a hard worker so hard to get rid of him because everyone likes him. Just really lacking in any basketball skill. Being an upcoming senior, it's tough.

Quarterman will take all those minutes. Collins just is a stop gap guy really, not a guy who will develop into some decent player. He's Chris Bass.

good news.

and im pretty sure simmons is patrick's god son.

there's been talk of hickey getting coser to home since the end of last season. JOB pretty much came here set on spending no more than 2 years in college. i guess time will tell what happens. we would need hickey next season more IMO.

I know stranger things have happened, but I think everyone knows that this team is going places next year. Coach Jones also seems loyal to the team and I don't think he would kick Courtney unless he had to. Unless we are in for a top recruit, I don't see him processing anyone. We may not be "done recruiting" but I don't think we take anyone else unless we think they are a difference maker.

Is his God Father but just relaying the message. Hasn't spoken to him in some time (and not about LSU). Luckily he had interest in LSU prior to Patrick coming here (can only help).

Before JOB got here he talked about being a 1 and done. Before this season I remember hearing he wanted to graduate because "you never know how long basketball allows you to play" type stuff.

On the Hickey thing, I am not sure. I know he's had some trouble, but he has to think that Coach Jones is the best shot he has of making a professional career out of the sport. Hickey is given all the freedom he wants and he will be on a bigger stage next season.

Exactly... never did I say they both are sure fire NBA players but since when has that mattered in CBB?

You'd hope this the case. I think he's matured quite a bit this season. Articles like this make me think he sticks around.

he is definitely thriving in this system. i think they'd both be wise to stay here, especially hickey. i think johnny can get drafted next year. guess we'll just have to wait and see. we will be young and talented next season but those two guys can take us to another level.

hickey leading the nation in steals at an sec school looks more impressive than if he were doing it at bowling green or wku. if he has his ducks in a row off the court i hope he sticks around.

johnny will have odo next to him plus martin, mickey and malone. we are definitely positioned to absorb his loss more than hickey's though. i like collins better off the ball and i still see quarterman as more of a wing.
