One of my best friends is coming in from Houston. His first trip to the flats. Wants to check out some local joints. So far, Iwas thinking a shrimp poor boy from olde tymes Friday early evening before the parade. Will be out of town for lunch Saturday. Therefore, Saturday dinner and Sunday lunch/brunch are what I'm looking for.

Many alcoholic beverages will be consumed during this entire process.

Mucho gracious

Cochon's last two days are Saturday and Sunday, maybe Link will be there to dish out some goodies.

Consider showing him some good crawfish...maybe the Seafood Patio down toward Abbeville or that place NW of town that everyone brags on, and I've never been...yet.

For Saturday Dinner, Jolie's or Social Southern Table and Bar.

For Sunday brunch, you can't get any better than French Press.

I thought about the social place, but it'll just be 2 of us, and we'd have to show up at 5 to get served. Don't see that happening. Jolie's might work.

I haven't been for brunch, just lunch, but this is a great place.

I mention Social since you can show up at 5:30-6 and sit at the bar waiting for a table. You can probably grab a table outside relatively quick.

Jolie's is a great choice if worried about seating at Social.

For drinks and food I'd recommend Social, but you are probably right about having to show up early to have a table. When I went it was a Tuesday and the place was full by 6:30.

I'd try Jolie's or Charlie G's.

French Press breakfast is awesome

Like most I'd go to Social regardless of wait or not. Trust me. You can get some good drinking in while waiting for a table.
Brunch, French Press or Another Broken Egg. I also like places that offer bottomless mimosas for brunch.

Doesn't Blue Dog have a pretty good brunch???

I'd go by Johnson's Boucanierre and get a sandwich or boudin on Saturday.

Blue Dog has a pretty good brunch, I think it's $22 with bottomless mimosas. I'd still rather French Press as far as breakfast goes though.

I think Bonefish does this as well.
