Atchafalaya Brunch - Review

My wife and I went the weekend before last for Sunday jazz brunch. Hang with me, I've never written a restaurant review on here before.
We had 10:30 resrvations. They called sometime after 9:00 AM that morning to confirm. We walked from our hotel in Lee Circle to the restaurant, got there at 10:25, and we were promptly seated.
Our waiter was very helpful and attentive. I didn't catch his name, but he was really good. Not overbearing and kept our mimosas and water filled. He told us about the bloody mary bar, which looked interesting but is just not my thing.
I ordered the Louisiana crabmeat omelet with a side of boudin. The omelet was great, with tons of lump crabmeat. It must've been 4 eggs, and I could not finish it. The boudin was the absolute best I've had east of the Basin. Superb.
My wife got one of the specials, cabcakes with a creole hollandaise sauce. She always orders crab cakes, and considers herself a bit of a connoisseur. These crab cakes were just amazing, to both myself and her. They were extremely rich, and didn't really need the sauce at all. We never order the same thing, but I would've ordered these as well, they were that delicious.
Atmosphere was very nice. Quaint little neighborhood feel. The jazz band was good, but the sound level was not a distraction at all. We were able to converse without raising our voices at all. I was not expecting that, and it was nice.
From now on, when we visit New Orleans, it will be very tough to pick another brunch spot. Atchafalaya was perfect for us.

Do it. I really don't see how you could go wrong. It was between this and Patois. It was ultimately up to my wife as this was her trip. No regrets.
