Well let's speculate on the second location.

The first one will hurt Albertsons and Winn Dixie on Airline. It's a good location and I do believe intersection improvements are coming out for bid in the near future.

That doesn't necessarily bode well for Alexander's Market going up at Highland and Old Perkins either.

Depends which is better. If AM holds up to its claim of "local Whole Foods", then it may be the top dawg in the area.

I think Albertson's is ultimately the one that takes the beating. Maybe the Ralph's on Jones Creek as well.

Rouses and Alexander's can put the Airline Winn Dixie and Albertsons locations out of business for all I care.

Time for something new.

Living in Pville my main travel is from I-10 to airline via highland. Unless they are giving HJ's at Rouses I would probably not want to back track, even one block with that traffic.

Maybe rouses will build up that little area, it is stuck in purgatory between Pville and Siegen. Plenty of people to support those two stores, albertsons might fold. Great to see two local stores chase a big guy out.

Damn this should be interesting. Will hate to see the Albertson's Shopping center empty if this happens though.

How do you figure it will put them out of business?

People chose WD over WalMart because of less headache. I don't see my weekly shopping habits change, but I won't go to Calandros or WF as much with these two closer.

Yall getting pumped about Rouses..... your town must really suck. Hell Raceland has 2 and even White Castle has one. Guess its nothing special to me since my family has been shopping there for 30 years.

How is that Winn Dixie? I've never been to it and it's really close to my house.

I like it because other than maybe 5-6pm you will never really wait in line.

As for individual prices I'm sure they are pretty close to competitive. I figure if I pay 5-10% more it is worth it not to deal with the WalMart hassle.

Beer section needs improvement, liquor isn't that bad. Produce has gotten better the last 6-10months. King Cakes are awesome if you can get them same day, same with cookies.

ETA: hot manager chick during the day as well, pretty nice arse on her.

You kind of have to go by what they do in each market. Yeah, I'm sure they don't care that their store's are all that aweseom in Raceland or White Castle. Maybe that will change.

I can tell you that the new store in downtown New Orleans is pretty kick arse.
They also did a huge makeover on the store on Veterans near Causeway in Metairie to add alot of prepared food and specialty items to compete with Whole Foods.

From my experience, they will have no problems kicking a Winn Dixie or Albertsons store out of the area.

Yep, but the 2 by my house in Metry are old and outdated.

Most of the ones in the region are just old Sav A Centers except the 2 you mentioned
