And they're really the only major program in the state, it's not like FL or TX.

Kansas State - #62

Not really that surprising. They've always won by bringing in JUCOs and developing under-recruited talent.

Texas is an obvious one, but NIU is interesting to me. MAC teams rarely rank high nationally, but with the Orange Bowl appearance and Illinois being down, they didn't even do much compared to the rest of their conference.

And none of the 9 top-100 recruits from the state of Georgia chose GT.

Surprised Stanford isn't more desirable. Beautiful area, great coach, great degree, pro system.

Ugh this is so stupid. Just because some dudes behind a computer didn't rank their players high means that Stanford isn't desirable? What were Toby Gerhart and Richard Sherman ranked?

Misleading stat. They have a very small class which hurts their average/points total. If you go by average star rating, they are around 15.

Tech has a pompous and rude head coach, they never have a defense, all the linemen do is cut block, all the DL just get cut blocked in practice every day, the safeties only play run support, the receivers never get to catch, the QBs never get to throw, their campus is in the ghetto and they are FAR and away the second fiddle program in the state.

Tech hasn't been a "major" program in 25 years with the exception of like 2 years when they had joe hamilton.

I doubt they cut that often in practice. Especially against the starters

Stanford has to take guys that can get in school. Even if the admissions office cuts them some slack, most blue chippers aren't gonna qualify.

ULM-123(I believe)

Some may laugh but with all the attention they got this past season u figured they could crack the top 100

It's hard for me to believe the recruiting services pay much attention to schools outside the power conferences, and the players they recruit. Rankings outside the top 25 or so are probably a wild arse guess. Or should I say, more of a wild arse guess than even the top 25.

They have won a national title more recently than UGA though.

Isn't it you gator fans that always accuse us of living in the past, most notably when it comes to the series record? lol

Big deal, splitting a title (so like half a title) in 1990 compared to winning one in 1980 doesn't mean a hill of beans in 2013.

I don't think they're underachievers in baseball.

recruiting lags about a year behind the on field results so if they were going to get an Orange Bowl bump, it would be 2014 class

Not me. I don't ignore the fact that UGA leads the all-time series 48-40-2. Although I think you can see the difference between something that happened roughly 20 years ago and stuff that happened before WW2.
And no, it's not "half" of a national title.
