It's only green onions, definitely looks like asparagus in some of those, but I promise it's not in there. It's easier to see in the uncooked picture where you can tell they're thin and hollow.

Note: I got this idea from Tsunami-Lafayette, they have a dish called Beef Negimaki that I was trying to copy. Coincidentally, theirs is served with asparagus.

Menu description: Beef Negimaki
Beef tenderloin slice wrapped around scallions served w/ asparagus & rich teriyaki sauce

It's all good, I think asparagus could be good inside also, but might need to be cooked a little first.
