Just bought an Xd and it shoots great, but the trigger isn't as smooth as I would like it. Anybody have any recs on trigger jobs. I hear that PRP and Springer have some solid kits, but wanted to know if anyone else has any input. Thanks in advance

I had an xd45 and put a springer precision trigger kit in it. Took some adjusting but it turned out great. Break was crisp and the reset was much quicker than the original. Didnt do it myself although some claim a novice can do it.

Have the xd45. Please elaborate on the trigger kit and where to get it/have it installed.

Me too, I just bought this gun and would be interested in these details as well.

What made you go with the Springer kit rather than something else?

Springer Precision

Check out xdtalk. Talk with ur gunsmith. Checked with all my gun buddies who checked with their gun buddies and I settled on this trigger job. I dont have a ton of experience with this stuff but after the trigger job my xd45 felt much more like my 1911's.

Thanks for the info BM. Going to do some more research, but the springer kit sounds like the best bet so far.

I'll go against the majority here, but I'd suggest leaving the trigger as is if the gun is going to be used as a self defense gun. A non-stock trigger can create problems to defend if one is ever unfortunate enough to have to shoot someone in self defense. Due to the nature of my work, not a day goes by without me having to consider some aspect of liability exposure. I don't want to have to worry about that w/ my self defense guns. If one of my self defense guns has a trigger I'm not happy w/, I'll replace it w/ one I am happy w/. If the gun is only going to be used as a range gun or hunting gun, then ignore my prior rant.

Thanks Tiger, its good to hear this side of the argument too. Hadn't put much thought into that. Once I get my CC, I will be using this gun as my carry. Appreciate it brotha
