It's a damn shame J.R. died IRL. The backstabbing and double-crossing is vintage. It's a pretty good revival of the original.

I love this show.

sad to see JR died, his "masterpiece" would have been great.

I'm watching. I loved it when JR said, "Son, I'm JR Ewing. I can make a body show up in a church social and no one would know."

I've been watching it I love it JR is good for a badass quote like this per episode. As someone said damn shame he died one of my favorite TV characters of all time. Also from what I've seen Hagman was a pretty good guy in real life as well. Could be wrong though

I think the show is gonna tank without JR but I could be wrong. The two sons don't really do it for me. Any time I have ever watched it is solely to see Larry Hagman.

I didn't think it would work without him either but this season so far I think John Ross has stepped it up to where it might work

Yeah, that dude just might be slimy enough to step into that role. JR leaves some huge shoes to fill though because he's one of the great tv villains of all time IMO.

Yep I think it's pretty good. Going to be interesting to see the episode with his funeral.

I'm watching it but damn it is getting cheesy as hell.

There isn't much else on in that time slot though.

It will be tough to fill JR's void.

I've been watching it. I'll admit that some scenes border on cheesy, but those usually involve the younger members of the cast. Extremely sad to know Larry Hagman only has a couple episodes left. I'm not sure the show can survive without him (and the ratings haven't been that great this season).

However, the last episode did have a great ending. Interested to see where it's going to go.

It's way past the "getting" stage. It's like the good guys, WRT inventing clean energy technology, are annoying Wesley Crushers that have sex with each other, and the bad guys are mustache-twirling villains that have sex with each other. But that plus the rigid behavior patterns are all part of the show's charm, I guess, plus the long history of the older characters. "Bobby's gonna want to kick his arse now", "Sue Ellen's gonna hit that bottle again", etc.

I enjoy the show and although I do think the guy that plays JR's son is doing a good job and has stepped it up this season, I think the perfect cast for the role of JR's son would have been Josh Holloway (Sawyer from Lost).

I don't think so at all. if anything its completely the other way around.

- Josh Holloway (Sawyer) is 43 years old
- Larry Hagman (J.R.) was 81 years old in the final season
- Josh Henderson (John Ross) is 31 years old

so if anything it would be more realistic that J.R. had his son at age 38 than it would at age 50.
