I'm trying to find a good semi-auto 20ga. for my daughter. I'm wanting to find one that's fairly light on recoil since she's only 8. She's shot a Mossberg pump 20 and did great with it,but I'd like to find her a little nicer gun. Hopefully one that can grow with her. Does anybody have any experience with a Beretta 390 20ga.? Or any other decent 20ga. that might work for her. I'm hoping to find her one that she can use as it she gets older as well

I'm normally a Beretta guy, but this is a fine shooting gun.

I'm a grown man, and an 870 yout fits me better than a full size 870.

Already tried that. Honest to goodness I'd rather shoot my SBEII than that youth model 870. I was suprised by how much it kicked. She has a Mossberg 500 in 20ga. right now. I want a semi-auto for her

Youth model. Shoot'em both and tell me what you think
Both the 870 and 500 we have are youth models. I've shot both. I wouildn't let her shoot the 870 youth after I shot it. But after shooting the 500 youth I did let her shoot that one. I wasn't about to chance scaring her on the first time she shot a shotgun

I have and I disagree. I wont quite react like RAT did but I agree with him. I believe that the 870 is much kinder than any 500.

Own a youth 870. Took it rabbit hunting two weeks ago, slayed them. Wont own a Mossberg. Ever. So I'll pass on that.

Im the biggest bitch when it comes to recoil in my 6'1, 120lb frame, and the youth 870 has very little recoil. Not sure if you are, or why you would, shooting 3in high brass, but sorry, agree to disagree on this one.

I am a berretta guy and have a two 391s 12 ga they are great and don’t kick at all but they are not cheap. Great guns and will last a lifetime+ For a cheaper gun a padnah got his son a weatherby 20 ga youth model. Not sure if they are gas or inertia but he likes it and less than ½ the $.

Pumps are out anyway fellas. As I stated before I'm hoping to find a good semi-auto for her. I really like the look of that Benelli and I was hoping to get something that she can use for a long time. I just wonder how it's gonna fit her right now

Is it a SA-08? Its a gas gun and I've read a lot of good reviews on them too

Look at the CZ 20ga youth semi-auto. My gf bought it for herself to dove hunt with this year. It is a sweet gun.

Are you suggesting that 870s are machine shotguns? Assault shotguns, if you will.

Thats just silly. I happen to know for a fact that only one shell shoots per trigger pull.
