Watched it only for Oldman, but I thought it was tough to sit through.

i read the wikipedia entry on my phone on it halfway through and said oh this makes a ton more sense, and then enjoyed the rest of the movie while my wife remained confused. she was impressed when i filled in the holes for her at the end.

i enjoyed it, but the nonlinear thing was confusing as crap.

Watched this last night. Anyone else have trouble following? Left me confused as frick. Had to read the plot on the internet afterwards. Thought the movie was deliberately confusing, more so than it needed to be

Yes. Because I do not learn the names of movie characters. I followed on wikipedia while watching so it was easier. Decent movie, probably wont see it again.

Same here. I loved it. I also loved The Good Shepherd. I hate Bourne and 007 movies for spy quality...as popcorn flicks they are okay.

I had to turn it off after 45 minutes. Boring, confusing, and dull.

Sucked balls.

I'd almost rather watch Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans

What do you mean almost? BL is hysterical. Cage is at his best playing someone so over the top.

yeah i'll take cage going apeshit for two hours all day over tinker tailor putting me to sleep.

the scene where cage terrorizes the old lady and her nurse alone is better than anything in tinker tailor.

I enjoyed it. My wife did too. We discussed it leaving the theater, and i feel we both had a good understanding of the film. The Internet confirmed this.

I had the same problem with the names.I was determined to understand what was going on so watched it 4 times. Every time learned more and started to enjoy the flick. Even now though, I still have many scenes I can't figure out.Still can't explain what happened in the "house". Way too complicated for the average person.

I am from the school of thought that I shouldn't have to watch a movie more than once or with a help guide in order to enjoy it. Tell the story well and it shouldn't be an issue.

I liked it quite a bit. The plot wasn't really that terrible to follow though I did see the Alec Guinness version many years ago. Of course after the box office this one had we'll see even more splosions and chase scenes and superhero movies.

Bingo. Tell a good story and comprehension shouldn't be an issue.

It was a really boring film. Even Gary Oldman couldn't save it.
