I love the argument that its to high at 9.99 but everyone seems fine paying 8.99 for other beer.

If I buy beer any lower than $8.99 (or $7.99 on sale some days), then I will see a decrease in either quality or quantity. Going up to $9.99 buys me no increase in quality and quantity. Note I am only comparing Canebreak to other local middle of the road beers.

The style may be middle of the road, but the beer is not middle of the road for the style.

And as far as being local, it is arguably the best 6 pack brewed in the area.

Woah now. Nobody is making that argument that has had beers brewed in the area.

I never said it was a great beer, but we don't have much to offer, so it's not like it's going up against jai alai, sn celebration, black butte, 2 hearted, anchor porter, etc

Most of the good stuff brewed here (not much but its getting better) doesnt make it past tap, and even less into 12 oz - 6pack format.

I don't mind spending a little more on a better beer especially if it is local. There is no way a small brewery wants their product at the same price as a Bud Lt or Coors.

I had a dream the other night about drinking a canebreak and eating curbside at Barcadia. I was sad when I woke up.

Ok, name a better 6-pack of bottles that's made locally.

Honestly, I cant think of one that's hands down better. Some on par, but not definitively better.

Exactly. I think this stuff is $8/pint at bulldog.

I doubt it. It's $4 when I get it at WalkOns on Sundays. Bulldog overcharges for some, but 2x as much seems a bit much. I don't know though.. I never look at the tab '

I DID notice that Chimes charged $6-something one night when Jones and I got Canebrakes, and we were shocked. I could order a better beer on their menu for that price. I usually get Canebrake at restaurants and whatnot because it's not BMC, yet still cheap enough to drink several.

That is the only other beer I would put up there, which is why i said Canebrake is arguablythe best local 6 pack.

Others may put nola blonde and tin roof blonde up there as well. I wouldn't. Hopitoulas isn't in 6 pack format, but if we aren't going to be splitting hairs, hopitoulas probably wins.

Hopitoulas is very good. I'd rather restoration and the LA 31 pale ale over canebreak.

Yeah, only beers on the same level made locally are some of the Nola products. I don't care for anything made by la 31. Abita has some OK stuff, but not comparable to canebrake imo

Hopitoulas yes, it's on par with Canebrake depending on what you're in the mood for.

Those other two are scraping the bottom of the barrel, in my humble opinion.

Yes. Chimes charges $6/pint. Silly.
